Karte ist ja wie beschrieben eingebaut.
Ich habe jetzt aus mangel an Nerven, Lust und Zeit die HAMA MCE Fernbedienung in Betrieb genommen.
Was soll ich sagen: "Sie lööööööpt"
Ok, man muss sich an das neue Tastenlayout gewöhnen, aber das ist das geringste Problem.
Und das die Farbtasten nicht in der Reihenfolge sind wie gewohnt auch. Mittelfristig will ich auch die ein oder andere Taste, wenn möglich "umbiegen".
Zur S480, kann ich sagen, dass ich das Gefühl habe, dass sie wesentlich empfindlicher ist auf Störungen respektive schlechte SAT-Kabel etc reagiert. Allerdings habe ich das nur bei ARD HD und ZDF HD so wirklich bemerkt.
Am Freitag abend, hatte ich Probleme mit dem allseits beliebten "TS continuity error". Gestern abend ARD HD gab's keine Probleme. Kurz vor 10 beim Heute-Journal auf ZDF HD ging's los mit den Artekaten.
Bei meinen Nexüssen, waren die Probleme in der Form nicht da. Da mussten schon richtige atmosphärische Störungen vorhanden sein. Vielleicht 5 - 10 mal im Jahr, hatten wir kein Bild. aber damit konnte man leben. Das war eher digital. Entweder Bild oder keins.
Die Anschlüsse der Satkabel habe ich nochmals geprüft (zumindest die ab der Dose im Wohnzimmer), damit es nicht an einer schlechten Verbindung liegt. femon zeigt mir bei den HD Sendern für STR ca. 75% und SNR ca. 45%. Wobei femon ja eher ein Schätzeisen ist. Bei den SD Sendern sind beide Werte höher und fast immer im grünen Bereich.
Die Umschaltzeiten sind auch noch optimierungsbedürftig. Ich bekomme nach dem umschalten ca. 1 - 2 sec. "No Signal".
Wénn man beim HD-schauen umschaltet, bleibt das Bild zusätzlich noch kurz stehen. Oder es startet in Zeitlupe (jeweils 1 - 2 sec.)
Ob die Umschaltgeschichten von der Karte kommen oder ein Problem der Einstellungen sind, habe ich noch nicht erruiert. Bzw mich noch nicht drum gekümmert.
Hauptsache die Kiste läuft erstmal.

Die Nexus war eine analoge Karte, richtig? Bei analogen Signalen waren alle Receiver deutlich flotter als bei den digitalen Signalen. Dies liegt an der Natur der Dinge, dass man warten muss, bis die erforderliche Anzahl an GOP´s glaube ich da sind. Also auf jeden Fall wird erst eine gewisse Menge an Daten benötigt bevor man überhaupt das erste Bild erzeugen kann und noch mal einen moment um den Ton zum Bild zu syncronisieren. Dieses Problem war bei analog Sat nicht der Fall!
Und da die HD Sender es von vorne herein noch schwerer. Es ist eine ca. 3-10 fache Datenmenge, und es muß ausgewertet werden ob SD oder HDTV vorliegt. Kostet alles Zeit.
Insofern sind die Umschaltzeiten schon sehr gut. Besser zumindest als man mit den meisten handelsüblichen Receivern erreichen kann
Und bei yavdr 0.4 brauchst Du eigentlich nichts mehr an den xine Parametern zu schrauben. Die sind schon optimal und erprobt.

Habe ich mit meiner Vermutung denn auch recht, dass die S480 hier wesentlich empfindlicher ist?
Neben den Kabeln und Dosen, kann das ja evtl auch an einer nicht 100% ausgerichteten Schüssel liegen, das mir bei den Nexüsssen einfach nicht aufgefallen ist. Weil halt die Datenrate bei SD-TVwesentlich geringer ist.
Können die femon Werte ein Indiz sein?

femon ist ein Schätzeisen und werte nur die Infos der Karte aus. Die Werte sind daher nicht vergleichbar mit anderen Herstellern. Bestenfalls kann man damit erkennen ob seine Anlage sich verschlechtert hat. Das war schon immer so und gilt selbst für Kaufreceiver.
Es gab mal vor einer Weile den Ansatz einer Diskussion, diese Werte der aktuellen üblichen Karten zu vergleichen. Dies ist aber so aufwendig und nur mit geeignetem Equipment machbar, so dass es bisher im Sande verlaufen ist.
Sie es einfach mal so, eine Sat Karte hat bei einer guten Anlage keine Empfangsprobleme. Ist die Anlage fehlerhaft, trennt sich die Spreu vom Weizen. Da aber keiner aus der Ferne sehen kann ob die Fehler von der Anlage oder der Karte kommen, hilft es nur einen Fachmann kommen zu lassen, der die Anlage mit einem Meßgerät prüft. Alles andere ist in die Glaskugel schauen
Du hättest mal die Klötzchen aus den Anfängen des HD-VDR sehen sollen. Momentan ist der Stand der Software aber so gut, dass es so gut wie nie Klötzchen beim Zappen gibt. Das ist schon um Welten besser als früher. Die von Dir beschriebenen Effekte sind also durchaus normal. Am besten funktioniert es momentan immer noch mit Xine als Frontend, und meiner Ansicht nach ist das zappen mittlerweile so gut, dass kaum ein fertiger Receiver es besser kann.

Huhu, habe mir die Karte vor ein paar Tagen zugelegt (rev 2.1). Nach einigen Anlaufschwierigkeiten (tvheadend wollte nicht habe das dann verworfen und vdr-devel genommen, das Umschalten in XBMC mit xvdr funktioniert erst, wenn beide Tuner ein Signal haben) muss ich sagen, dass die Karte für den Preis echt super läuft. Umschaltzeiten sind in Ordnung (gefühlt so 1-1,5 sec SD und 2-3 sec HD).
Ich habe aber auch das "Problem", welches MrSteve beschrieben hat. Die S480 ist nicht so empfindlich wie meine alte TT-S2300 premium. SNR sinkt bei mir bei HD-Sendern unter 50%, was sich bei mir im Bild aber nicht wiederspiegelt. Die Tage war es etwas windiger und es hat stark geregnet, da hatte ich auch ein paar Artefakte und Tonknacksen in den HD-Sendern, die SD-Sender gingen aber problemlos (Hey, schau ich halt bei Sturm die ÖR-Sender in SD ).
Probleme mit Temperaturen kann ich nicht feststellen, habe die Karte direkt neben der passiven ASUS-GT520 - Karte wird kaum warm, auch mit mehr Luft wird der Empfang nicht besser (habe probehalber mal das Gehäuse geöffnet)

- Nach mehreren Stunden Betrieb, bekomme ich ab und zu Probleme, dass das Bild Artefakte zeigt. Ob das ein Temperaturproblem ist konnte ich nicht verifizieren. Könnte aber auch an meiner passiv gekühlten Grafikkarte liegen, dass sie hier die Artekakte erzeugt. Und nicht die DVB-S Karte. Habe bis jetzt noch keinen zusätzlichen Pustefix installiert.
Meine SNR-Werte bei HD liegen bei 40 - 45%. Wobei man unsere Werte natürlich nicht wirklich vergleichen kann. Die SD SNR Werte liegen bei >70%.

Das fehlen des Sounds beim umschalten kommt glaube ich von meinem Fernseher, der braucht immer etwas bis der den neuen Stream erkennt (ist zumindest bei Filmen auch so, oder kann das jemand bestätigen dass es an der Karte liegt?)
Artefakte hatte ich bisher nicht, werde die Kiste jetzt aber mal ein wenig laufen lassen, mal schauen was dann kommt.

ist es tätsächlich s, dass die karte de facto nicht nutzbar ist wenn man nur ein LNB an der schüssel hat ? ich plane mir die karte auch zukaufen, habe aber z.Z. nur ein LNB anschluss in der wohnung, aber die paar euro mehr für ne dualkarte wärs mir wert - wenn sie denn auch mit einem LNB gut läuft.

Beim Treiber laden gibt es die Möglichkeit, die Karte via
options adapter nr 2 oder so ähnlich (einfach mal suchen) als Single Tuner zu initialisieren.
Kannst Dir dabei aussuchen, an welchen Anschluß Du das Kabel steckenn willst.
Funktioniert übringens bei allen Twin/Quad/... Karten so.

Hallo zusammen,
ich habe vor einigen Tagen meinen guten alten VDR HD tauglich gemacht und komplett neu aufgesetzt. Da ich bisher immer debian bzw. den ct VDR genutzt habe (seit ca. 10 Jahren) habe ich mich als Distri für yavdr entschieden. Als Spielkind kam natürlich nur die neuste alpha Version (0.5alpha1) in Frage. So weit läuft auch alles sehr gut, nur habe ich das Problem, dass nach einigen reboots der USB-Controller auf der S480 nicht mehr richtig abgefragt werden kann. Wenn ich den VDR komplett vom Stromnetz nehme und nach ca. einer Minute wieder unter Strom setzte funktioniert alles wieder für mehrere reboots (ca. 5-10) und dann muß ich wieder das selbe Spielchen machen. Für Timeraufnahmen ist so etwas natürlich nicht ganz so toll. Hat jemand eine Idee woran dieses Problem liegen kann? Habe sowohl im Portal als auch bei Frau Google gesucht aber leider nichts zu dem Thema gefunden. Wie man im dmesg sieht wird auf grund der USB Probleme auch keine S480 oder S660 erkannt. Interessant dürfte hier folgende Zeilen sein:

Hallo zusammen,
nur für Leute mit ähnlichen Problemen wie mein oben geschildertes. Die Probleme mit dem erkennen der Karte nach einem reboot und den Bootabrüchen nach dem GRUB Menü sind verschwunden nach dem ich die DVB-T PCI Karte ausgebaut habe. Ist vielleicht nicht wirklich eine Lösung, aber die DVB-T Karte hatte ich noch aus historischen Gründen verbaut und der Wegfall ist für mich verschmerzbar. Wenn jemand eine Idee hat wie ich die DVB-T Karte trotzdem wieder im System betreiben kann, dann bitte immer her damit.
