Stirbt meine Platte auch?

    Eine meiner Platten kommt in die Jahre und macht in idle Zeiten frequente monotone ratternde Aktuatorgeräusche alle paar Sekunden und der Selbsttest der 1 Minute dauern soll dauert jetzt 5-10 Minuten. Sonst kein merklicher Performanceverlust.
    Und bisher ca. 3x wurde sie beim Booten vom BIOS nicht erkannt.
    SMART Automatic Offline Testing ist aus, macht sie vielleicht aber trotzdem.


    Ist ne Seagate Barracuda 7200.7, kennt jemand den Effekt?


    Verreckt mir da der Linearmotor?

    Für Aufnahmen (speziell im HD-Bereich) gehen da ja sogar fast 6 bis 7 Stunden drauf!? Ausserdem hat sie ja mit
    'Power_On_Hours 0x0032 066 066 000 Old_age Always - 30216' !!!
    ihr Geld wirklich schon genug verdient! Also, ruck zuck mal die Wirtschaft beleben und eine neue Platte Kaufen...

    P.S.: Wenn du auf 'antike' Platten stehst, ich habe hier noch mindestens 8 Stück 40GB IBM-Deskstar liegen, die kann man noch prima als Raid-0 verwenden (weil die ja als total zuverlässig bekannt sind :o)... :lol2 :lol2 :lol2
    Aber Spaß beiseite, weg mit dem alten Teil und eine neue Platte (oder besser gleich zwei, als Raid-1) einbauen! Ich glaube, dass selbst Seagate mit der 5 Jahresgarantie diese Platte nicht mehr tauschen wird.

    7200.7 die dürfte knapp 7 Jahre auf dem Buckel haben... für eine Festplatte ein alter in dem man durchaus an einen Austausch denken darf :)

    Die Platte zeigt also schon erste Ausfallserscheinungen.


    Das Klackern deutet übrigens meistens darauf hin, dass es "schwache Sektoren" auf der Platte gibt, die nicht beim ersten Anlauf gelesen werden können.
    Oft bringt ein fsck-Durchlauf (vorher Backup!) mit der Option "-cc" da was, dadurch wird alles erneut geschrieben und damit aufgefrischt.


    Wenn danach die Reallocated_Sectors ansteigen ist die Platte ziemlich sicher hin.

    Zuerst - falls noch nicht geschehen - einen Backup machen.


    Anschließend einen vollständigen Selbsttest: "smartctl -t long ..."
    und das Ergebnis posten. Dann sieht man weiter.

    ich hoffe doch nicht das meine Platte stirbt. Will eigentich nur mal schaun wie es ihr geht. Da ich eine EADS mit dem Intellipark habe, hätte ich mich da gerne mal informiert wie oft sich das Ding parkt und ob ich aktiv werden muss.

    hast Du mal den vollständigen Pfad angegeben ( bsw. /usr/sbin/smartctl .... , falls es intalliert ist)


    und Rechte beachten su , sudo (--> Permission denied)

    na wenn du jetzt 5 monate nach ablauf der garantie da anrufst und nach garantie fragst dann mußt dich nicht wundern ;)


    das ist mit den kundenbetreuern wie bei der telekom, mal hast einen der ahnung hat und sich der sache annimmt, mal hast so ne schwachbirne dran der nur sein protokoll runterleiert...


    by the way, meine knapp 3 jahre alte seagate wurde anstandslos getauscht...war ne 160er ide, die haben mir als austausch ne 320er ide geschickt...glück gehabt ;)
