Ok Johns patch von patchwork ist zumindest im git Repository enthalten:

dieser funktioniert und macht keine Probleme.

Einzig der Patch:

Hab es eben so getestet und mir den v4l tree ohne den Patch kompiliert, alles läuft einwandfrei. Auch die Fernbedinung scheint bis auf eine Taste (Pic) zu funktionieren sowohl unter vdr als auch xbmc. (v4l-dvb-dkms source paket + patches ohne "v2-V4L-DVB-faster-DVB-S-lock-for-mantis-cards-using-stb0899-demod.patch")

Hello, I need help
I have Twinhan 1041 dvb card - it's compatible with Mantis driver
I've used kernel 2.6.37 v4l-dvb-dkms and it was great - switching channels was much better than on stock driver.
Hovewer I would like to upgrade to newer kernel becuse postfix not working properly. Unfortunately "big lock" files are removed in this kernel and v4l-dvb-dkms doesn't compile on this kernel.
I've tried s2-liplianin-dkms - it doesn't compile under 2.6.39 and under 2.6.37 too despite being quite new (I use all three repositories: stable, testing, unstable)
Now I even can't compile v4l-dvb-dkms on 2.6.37-1-686 while it was working yesterday.
What's difference between s2-liplianin-dkms and v4l-svb-dkms? Which one should I use?

Hallo,

ich bin den Thread jetzt nicht durchgegangen, ich hoffe das ist nicht schon bekannt.
Die Technotrend TT S-2400 zickt mit dem v4l-dvb-dkms-Treiber, getestet mit Version 0~20110717.git256939.202 unter 0.4Pre1. Irgendwie funktionieren nur noch wenige Sender. Sat1, RTL & Co gehen nicht, ZDF geht.

I suggest you recompile your kernel without dkms, but you patch your source with the modification of johns: Patch: stb0899: Fix not locking DVB-S transponder

This will fix the 1041 tuning - if you like the Twinhan remote to work again, additionally use the patch of chris: Add remote control support for mantis

Both patches are not part of the kernel yet, so it's good if people test it and give some feedback.

If its not a selfcompiled kernel , then i suggest to use the v4l-dvb-dkms from our natty repository which is containing what Lou suggests. From your problems i read you are using the lucid packages. In Natty the packages are up-to-date git only few days old with few patches (as these).

Thank you. I didn't notice I was trying to use v4l-dvb-dkms from Debian native repository, version from 2010 year. Before I had a newer and working 2011-03 version probably from some "-vdr " yavdr repository, but now this package is moved to "ubuntu" yavdr repository (or maybe i have deleted some repository). Now it compiles ok.
I don't like to compile kernel myself because I like to have everything in packages - any upgrade is easier and less time consuming, less error prone.
Now I use Debian experimental and 2.6.37 kernel together with v4l-dvb-dkms 0~20110625.git255868.188~lucid version. Does dkms compile with any newer kernel?

At least with 2.6.38 (natty), in theory from 2.6.31 to 3.0 (this should work since the guys from linuxtv doing a great work to maintain media_build/media_tree, which in turn i use to do the dkms)

sil3nt: Ich hab deinen Post übersehen, Magst du das diff nochmal mit -Nru machen ? Das kann ich besser lesen und schau es mir nochmal an.

Das dkms (natty/main) habe ich am WE btw aktualisiert und wie hier angeregt, die mantis-Patches fürs Locking und den Patch für die FB mit der Umrüstung auf rc-core aktualisiert.

Ist es geplant für yavdr 0.3 nochmal ein neues s2-liplianin-dkms zu bauen (also für lucid)?
Ich helfe mir für meine cinergy S2 USB HD derzeit mit einem aus unstable. Und hier funktioniert die box nach einem cold boot erst nach einem vdr restart (z.B. Backend neustarten aus dem WFE).
Die letzte aus stable datiert vom Oktober 2010 und unterstützt die cinergy gar nicht.

ich hab letzten nen link zu nem aktualisieren s2 paket verlink in unstable. da ist sogar der s6400 treiber enthalten. ist aber jetzt aktuell auch schon wieder ein klein wenig veraltet.

Not sure - it might be that you didnt check the latest version of v4l-dvb - i think i included a patch for stb0899 FEC34 tuning problems. Also it might be that the fix doesnt work for your device or some other fix missing. I'm not even sure there is a fix at all for your problem.

Is it this: Stb0899: FEC=3/4 [Tester gesucht] ? Should maybe be discussed on linux-media i only put copies of s2-liplianin and linuxtv git into dkms and add some patches as requested by different hardware owners if necessary.

Ich habe heute auf einer frisch installierten 0.4pre die v4l installiert, funktioniert mit meiner CineS2 Karte einwandfrei (bisher).
Das Bild ist auch (mit Xineliboutput) um einiges besser als mit den vorhandenen Treibern.

Edit: I've read an answer twice and fixed sources.list to get natty packages. I'm waiting to compile
