Arch Linux Pakete für VDR 1.6 und VDR Plugins (WIP)

    Mein VDR läuft nun seit einem 3/4 Jahr auf Arch Linux und ich habe in der Zeit einige Pakete erstellt die ich nun für interessierte VDR/Arch Linux Nutzer
    zugänglich machen möchte.


    Inspiriert haben mich damals und auch heute noch die e-tobi Pakete für Debian. Das ist auch der Grund warum meine Pakete teilweise eine gewisse Ähnlichkeit mit den e-tobi Paketen haben. Vielen Dank für die e-tobi Pakete an dieser Stelle, großartige Arbeit.


    Im Großen und Ganzen habe ich versucht die Pakete der Arch Linux KISS Philosophie entsprechend zu gestallten.
    Die Pakete dienen als Basis. Der Rest muss von Hand gemacht werden.


    Für alle Interessenten gibt es die Paket Quellen (PKGBUILDs) auf der ArchVDR Projektseite im Subversion Repository.

    i'm really interested in this project since i'm using Arch Linux from more than 1 year and i have a lot of plugins installed (more than 60).


    A couple of question:


    1) are you thinking to include other plugins in your repo?
    2) are italian translations supported?

    Und warum erfindest Du das Rad neu?
    Im AUR stehen bereits Pakete für VDR. Die ich seit 05/2007 übernommen habe und regelmäßig pflege.


    U.a. VDR selbst, Femon-Plugin, Wirbelscan und Softdevice.


    Sollten wir uns nicht eher zusammen tun anstatt parallel Pakete zu entwickeln?


    Du hast aber schon ne echte Menge zusammen getragen. Nur wenn die Pakete nicht im AUR zu finden sind, dann werden die wenigsten sie benutzen.

    Yes of course, if they are vdr 1.6.0 compatible and stable. But there are some plugins i can not test easily e.g. xineliboutput or bitstreamout, because i don't run X or have 5.1 equipment.

    I dont understand exactly what you mean.
    The output (console/syslog) of the scripts i wrote (runvdr, mplayer ...) is in english. There are some files that contain german language (e.g. reccmds.conf) but i think i will change this to english.
    My packages are meant to be simple, so i would rather not include translations for several languages. Files like commands.conf and reccmds.conf can be easily changed and translated by the user its self.

    Well, i used sources, applied patches and compiled as usual so maybe we can start from there to create PKGBUILDs

    Schoen, dass ArchLinux jetzt auch fuer VDR interessanter wird! Ich habe gerade versucht, die Files auszuchecken, "svn checkout svn://svn.berlios.de/archvdr/trunk " gibt allerdings die Fehlermeldung "svn: URL 'svn://svn.berlios.de/archvdr/trunk' doesn't exist" zurueck.

    Wie schaut es mit dem 1.7.2 (1.7.0) Version aus? Hat jemand schon PKGBUILDs gemacht. Und die treibern für dvb-s2 aus (hg clone http://mercurial.intuxication.org/hg/s2-liplianin/ ). Bin Archlinux User seit paar tage und muss sagen das so ein distro mag ich. Und denke weiter die zu benutzen auf meine vdrbox.

    Wir haben bisher keine Pakete für VDR 1.7
    Bisher haben wir uns auf den stabilen Zweig konzentriert.


    Du kannst Dir aber recht leicht die PKGBUILDs für VDR 1.6 so modifizieren, das ein VDR 1.7 draus wird. Schau Dir einfach mal das 1.6er PKGBUILD an. So kompliziert isses nicht. Und das Shutdown-Script usw. vom 1.6er kannst Du ja auch mit dem 1.7er verwenden.


    DVB-S2 dürfte schwierig werden. Bzw. nur in Verbindung mit einem neuen Kernel-Paket. Weil bei Arch stecken die DVB-Treiber direkt im Kernel. Die sind nicht als separates Paket aufgebaut.
    Einfach andere (neuere) mittels Paket drüber bügeln dürfte schwierig werden, weil man damit Dateien des Kernel-Paketes überschreibt. Das lässt pacman nicht zu.


    D.h. Du müsstest Dir ein eigenes Kernel-Paket bauen, das die neuen DVB-Treiber enthält.
