hdparm -M 128 erzeugt DriveStatusError

Hallo,
ein hdparm -M 128 /dev/hda erzeugt bei mir:

Code

/dev/hda:
setting acoustic management to 128
HDIO_DRIVE_CMD:ACOUSTIC failed: Input/output error
acoustic = 0 (128=quiet ... 254=fast)

reproduzierbar errors.

und es ist übrigens kein Hardware-Fehler. Neuere Seagate-Festplatten unterstützen die manuelle Änderung der AAM-Einstellung nicht mehr (obwohl Seagate-Laufwerke AFAIR das Feature als erste eingeführt hatten) - angeblich wegen einer Patentstreitigkeit.

Gonz hat ja schon gesagt
Du hast vermutlich ne seagate Platte welche den Acoustic mode nicht beherrscht.
Die Fehlermeldung ist aber harmlos

Hi,

d1 (ist aber vermutlich default) und u1 koenntest Du aber drinne lassen. Bei intensiven Plattenzugriffen ists system dann besser bedienbar.
