Mystique SaTiX-S2 V2 CI Dual & Mystique CI Interface f. Mystique SaTiX-S2 Dual

Hi everyone,

last friday 14 may I recieved the Mystique SaTiX-S2 V2 CI Dual and Mystique CI Interface f. Mystique SaTiX-S2 Dual from dvbshop.

I installed both in the pc using the threat, yaVDR Installationsbericht mit Zotac ION ITX F + Mystique SaTiX-S2 Dual
I'm using a Asrock 330Ion. So no option to use to pci-e slots.
And the distro is mythbuntu.

Both card are connected directly to each other, and both connected with a powercable.
The Satix is seen by the system, but with the CI-module I don't find anything in back in dmesg or lspci.
There is no CAM/Smartcard inserted yet. Is it necessary to have one inserted or doesn't it matter.

I able to recieve sat-channels, but due to fact i don't have a Cam/Smartcard i'm not able to test it this way.

I have connected the ci-module with the pci-e bridge, but linux only see the micronas and then loads
the ngene driver but nothing more.

Is there someone who can tell me more?

I rather new to linux, 1 year and halve.
And with satellite no experience until know.

In the attachment is a overview of dmesg and lspci with the two cards connected together and
the ci-module with the pci-e bridge.

Sorry, the CI is not yet supported by the linux driver.

I will have to wait until it's supported by linux.

Would the developer (endriss) appreciate if I propose to help him with the development of the driver, being a testing platform for the ci-module?

Komisch, komisch was ich hier lese
weil am 4. Mai habe ich an Mystique folgende Frage geschrieben:

Sehr geehrte Damen und Herren
Durch des VDR-Portal (http://www.vdr-portal.de/board/portal.php) und dem DVBShop wurde ich auf Ihr, im Betreff angegebenes Produkt aufmerksam.
Vor ich mich zu einem Kauf entscheide, hätte ich einige Fragen:
1.) Wird die Karte von Linux - Kernel 2.6.32 erkannt (Lucid Lynx)?
2.) Funktioniert die CI Erweiterung unter VDR richtig?
3.) Funktioniert ein Cryptoworks Modul in der CI Erweiterung (ORF Karte)?
Für die Beantwortung der Fragen wäre ich Ihnen sehr verbunden.

ja, mit den V4L Treibern und dem u.g. Kernel funktioniert alles, auch das CI samt Cryptoworks Modul.

Das passt so gar nicht zu den oberen Aussagen. Weiß da jemand etwas genaueres? Ich habe die Karte noch nicht bestellt, da das CI Interface offensichtlich (noch) nicht lieferbar ist

Was hat sich geändert?

Wie sieht es denn momentan mit der Unterstützung des "Mystique CI Interface f. Mystique SaTiX-S2 Dual" durch die V4L-Treiber aus? Hat es jemand ausprobiert?

Na so extrem würde ich das jetzt nicht ausdrücken. In der Tat hatte ich dem Kunden seinerzeit, zu der Geburtsstunde gesagt, daß das CI, wenn es rauskommt, auch gehen wird. Und so war auch ursprünglich die Ansage des Entwicklers. Wie man aber im Laufe der Zeit gesehen hat, hat sich doch alles recht weit nach hinten verschoben.

Die letzte Info vor ca. 4 Wochen war, daß es schon ein "Package" gibt für diverse Linuxentwickler, die zur Zeit wohl das CI unter Linux testen. Ob da was dran ist, entzieht sich meiner Kenntnis. Wer mich aber kennt, weiß, daß ich Kunden keinen Müll erzähle (schon gar nicht bewußt :-)

Außerdem hatte ich dem Kunden angeboten, nachdem es ja eine Fehlinformation war, das Geschäft rückgängig zu machen, da das eine "von mir zugesicherte Eigenschaft" war, die ja zu dem Zeitpunkt nicht zutraf.

Also: CI unter Linux ist wohl schon seit längerem in Arbeit ... Letzte Info war, daß es gegen Mitte Oktober wohl fertig sein "sollte" ... Aber Jungs: ich bastel die Dinger nicht ... Da sitzen andere dahinter ...

Warten auf St. Nimmerlein?

Anfang Juni habe ich die Karte samt CI Interface beim DVB Shop gekauft auf die schon gepostete Zusicherung, daß das CI funktioniert.
Beim letzten Emailkontakt (15.9.) mit Hr. Hundt wurde mir der Termin Mitte Oktober für die Funktion des CI in Aussicht gestellt.

Eine Rückabwicklung wurde mir leider nicht angeboten.

Weiß jemand, wo ich, sollte es doch irgendwann soweit sein, die entsprechenden Treiber bekomme?
SSD1: Asus AT3IONT-I, Mystique SaTiX-S2 V2 Dual, yaVDR 0.5, VNSI, SATA 1TB, Harmony FB 700, Atric Einschaltmodul

Ein guter und professioneller Shop unterrichtet seine Kunden via Mailingliste, wenn es etwas neues zu der gekauften Hardware gibt. - Wie das beim dvbshop ist, weiß allerdings nicht....

Welcher Shop macht denn das ?
Das macht maximal der Hersteller, wenn Du bei Ihm das Produkt registrierst ...

Has anyone tried out this diff file for the ci.
Just got a hold on it on http://www.show24.biz/forum/topic.php?topic_id=4
(Posted today)

I'm using kernel 2.6.35, where the ngene driver is build in.
So I have to compile the driver again, what is no problem. I done it before.
But I once that is done I have no idea how to check if the ci is working.
If I need some extra software or what.

Any help welcome.

I tried to apply the patch but there seems to be a lot of error's.
I tried the patch on the hg v4l-dvb ( hg clone http://linuxtv.org/hg/v4l-dvb/ )

And if I look to the patch there is only a change for the Linux4Media cineS2 DVB-S2 Twin Tuner (v5) and the Linux4Media cineS2 DVB-S2 Twin Tuner (v5)
Not for the Mystique SaTiX-S2 Dual (v2) and others that use the same hardware.

So the patch needs some rework to make it work, I will give it a try this weekend.
But I'm sure if I'm able to do it.

Any help welcome.

From here I have no idea how to proceed, there are some things i could probably solve.
But I would like to have someone look at this with some more experience.
Probably I did some things wrong but I new to linux and programming (I think the drivers are programmed in C, no experience with that).

(I made a error in my previous link, I have not seen that the 7 was missing.)

The second was my attempt to make the original work, but like you see I didn't succeed.
I got stuck, because of not having enough experience in programming.
I could only try and see if it would worked.

Hi,

the ci.diff patch is only working with http://linuxtv.org/hg/~endriss/ngene-test2 . But for ngene-test2 you need fw18 from UFO. ;) You can send him a mail or pn to get fw18.

ok, thanks for letting me know.

On show24.biz it should not have been posted, or with a warning that it will only work when the new firmware has been firmly tested and approved.
