Ich habe eine möglicherweise defekte USB Festplatte. Daten sind schon gesichert, d.h. es geht nur darum, herauszufinden, ob ich die Festplatte wieder verwenden kann.

Das verstehe ich nicht. Also, da steht doch "device supports SMART and is Disabled". Das muss ich doch dann "enablen" können. Ich dachte, das geht mit "smartctl -s on" (?). Das bewirkt aber nichts.
