YaVDR+SL-6399 Fernbedienung

  • I too have this remote. It was working with yavdr 0.3 - i only had to change the keyboard.xml for XBMC

    I have upgraded to yavdr 0.4 and now the keys do not work out the box. LEFT, RIGHT, UP & DOWN = WORKING, SELECT/OK is not working.

    I have tried changing the /var/lib/vdr/.xbmc/userdata/keymaps/remote.xml but that does not work either. Has anyone got this remote working?

  • Hallo,

    Wo muss man hier ansetzen?

    Danke!

Tastenkombinationen. Er ist aus Sicht der OS KEIN IR-Receiver.

    1. sudo apt-get update && apt-get distupgrade (es wird fleißig gecodet).

    I have tried changing the /var/lib/vdr/.xbmc/userdata/keymaps/remote.xml but that does not work either. Has anyone got this remote working?

    Regarding your first problem:

    You have to fix your /etc/vdr/remote.conf

    You have different issues like:
    KEY_NUMERIC_x -> KEY_x
    KEY_ENTER -> KEY_OK
    KEY_BACKSPACE -> KEY_ESC
    etc. (as someone before already wrote)

    You can find out this by the command on the terminal: irw
    It will help you and show the names you have to replace in the remote.conf

    Regarding the second problem:

    You simply edited the wrong Lircmap.xml (it is not remote.xml btw). You have to edit it at this location:

    /usr/share/xbmc/system/Lircmap.xml

    The file includes several sections for different models of rc, you have to edit the section devinput (which is for some reason the name here ...) (as irw btw tells you). As well here are some missing keys or different names so far I remember.

  • Thanks for the help your guidance has been a great help. I now have the remote buttons working!

    But I now have a new problem. "Enter/Ok" works fine on the XBMC menus. But when I press select full screen with the "Enter/Ok" button the picture goes full screen and then types in "88" - takes me to channel 88 on the PVR. Is this anything to do with the fact that irw buttons are sending 2 key presses:

    Pressing Ok once:
    irw
    KEY_ENTER
    KEY_ENTER

    I have 8 set to KEY_NUMERIC_8 so I don't understand where it is getting channel 88 from

    The remote also does this in the YAVDR OSD (non xbmc)

  • Hi Charlie,

    Natty registers your receiver both keyboard and mouse. It sends keystrokes and keyboard shortcuts. He is from the perspective of the OS NO IR receiver. Eventlircd converts the keystrokes and keyboard shortcuts in simple key code. The original remote.conf is the reference. These codes are forwarded to VDR and XBMC. Understand, you have no remote control. You have a keyboard and a mouse. /etc/eventlircd.d/03_1241_e000.evmap is your friend. Do the following:

    - clean install yaVDR (we assume)
    - sudo apt-get update && apt-get distupgrade
    - select no remote in WFE, no change in remote.conf or lircmap.xml
    - find out all keystrokes, shortcut keys of your remote control
    - edit /etc/eventlircd.d/03_1241_e000.evmap. The reference is remote.conf.
    - safe or template your changes

    The content looks like this.:
    KEY_UP = KEY_UP
    KEY_DOWN = KEY_DOWN
    alt+meta+KEY_ENTER = KEY_MENU
    KEY_ENTER = KEY_OK
    KEY_BACKSPACE = KEY_ESC
    KEY_1 = KEY_1
    KEY_MP3 = KEY_MODE
    ctrl+shift+KEY_P = KEY_PLAY
    ... etc.

    That's all.

  • - clean install yaVDR (we assume) - DONE
    - sudo apt-get update && apt-get distupgrade - DONE
    - select no remote in WFE, no change in remote.conf or lircmap.xml - No remote set on web GUI, LIRC support unticked
    - find out all keystrokes, shortcut keys of your remote control - USED IRW - SEE BELOW
    - edit /etc/eventlircd.d/03_1241_e000.evmap. The reference is remote.conf.
    - safe or template your change

    This does not work. I have done a fresh new install of yavdr, applied all updates.

    When I press the right arrow on the remote - it does move right but also MUTES xbmc. Press it again and it moves right & UNMUTES

  • Charlie, we solve it,

    Theory:
    The remote control sends infrared signals to the IR receiver. The IR receiver is connected to the USB. The IR receiver is detected as a keyboard and a mouse. The IR receiver translates the IR signals into keystrokes and keyboard shortcuts. Eventlirc translates these keystrokes and keyboard shortcuts in remote.conf compliant keystrokes. Eventlirc only translates keystrokes and key combinations that come from a keyboard and only those for which an evmap exists. Eventlirc not translates keystrokes and shortcuts from the mouse, he will forward them. VDR understands only the keystrokes that are defined in remote.conf. Remote.conf is changed only by the developer team of yaVDR! XBMC understands these keystrokes but also mouse inputs.

    Practice:
    yaVDR already knows your IR receiver (udev rule /lib/udev/rules.d/98-eventlircd.rules). yaVDR has an evmap for your IR receiver (/etc/eventlircd.d/03_1241_e000.evmap). The evmap does not fit to your remote control. Your remote control sends two commands with one keystroke. One comes from the keyboard, the other from the mouse. Your evmap is buggy!

    Solution:
    Evmap: left side your keystrokes and keyboard shortcuts, right side remote.conf keystrokes. reference

    KEY_UP = KEY_UP
    KEY_DOWN = KEY_DOWN
    KEY_ENTER old meta = KEY_MENU
    KEY_ENTER = KEY_OK
    KEY_BACKSPACE = KEY_ESC
    KEY_LEFT = KEY_LEFT
    KEY_RIGHT = KEY_RIGHT
    KEY_NUMERIC_0 = KEY_0
    KEY_NUMERIC_1 = KEY_1
    KEY_NUMERIC_2 = KEY_2
    KEY_NUMERIC_3 = KEY_3
    KEY_NUMERIC_4 = KEY_4
    KEY_NUMERIC_5 = KEY_5
    KEY_NUMERIC_6 = KEY_6
    KEY_NUMERIC_7 = KEY_7
    KEY_NUMERIC_8 = KEY_8
    KEY_NUMERIC_9 = KEY_9
    ... etc.

    There are two lircmap.xml files. Find the. Use only the devinput section. Delete the rest in both.

    If necessary, disable the mouse function in XBMC (somewhere in settings).

    What happens, when you use the Harmony with Microsoft MCE profile. I do it.

    Please post the following:

    - sudo cat /proc/bus/input/devices
    - Photo (or link) from your remote control and receiver.

    Good luck.

  • Firstly thanks for trying to help me out. I am about to give up I have spend so many hours trying to figure this out. Its strange as in 0.3 all i had to do was edit the xbmc Keymaps file.

    I think theres a typo here here:
    "There are two lircmap.xml files. Find the. Use only the devinput section. Delete the rest in both."

    Did you mean "Find them both"?
    /usr/share/xbmc/system/Lircmap.xml - this one ?

    /var/lib/vdr/.xbmc/userdata/Lircmap.xml - and this one?
    /usr/share/yavdr/templates/var/lib/vdr/.xbmc/userdata/Lircmap.xml - also found one here

    And to show what just this:

    "What happens, when you use the Harmony with Microsoft MCE profile"

    Well let me first say that I bought a DELL usb IR receiver off ebay (OVU412002/00) which supposedly works with the harmony. Well I got on even worst with this. When using it with the MCE profiles (keyboard and remote), it only detects KEY_VOLUME_UP & KEY_VOLUME_DOWN, KEY_MUTE

    When I use the MCE remote profile but with the Speedlink receiver (link to photo#mce_temp_url# ) I have the exact same results as i mentioned in my previous post

    Output from "sudo cat /proc/bus/input/devices" (dell receiver is unplugged so this should only show my speedlink & tevii)

    "If necessary, disable the mouse function in XBMC" - Done made no difference I'm afraid.

    Really hope you can help, even if it is to recommend a new remote control! Thanks

  • Hi Charlie,

    can you please remove or replace your keyboard? It is from Microsoft and also has an IR receiver. Your remote is a MCE (Microsoft Media Center Edition). Maybe it understands the IR-codes your remote control. The two IR receivers simultaneously send different commands.

    Your Lircmap.xml is buggy, therefore:
    sudo process-template /var/lib/vdr/.xbmc/userdata/Lircmap.xml

    That's all.

  • 1) I have disconnected the keyboard and receiver
    2) Turned on my HTPC (yaVDR)
    3) Installed the latest updates tonight - sudo apt-get update & dist-upgrade
    4) Run the command:

    sudo process-template /var/lib/vdr/.xbmc/userdata/Lircmap.xml

    5) Restarted the PC

    The problem still exists! both in xineliboutput and XBMC

    Do you require some more output from some commands? Is there anything else I can do?

  • Hi Charlie.

    Well, maybe the keyboard is not to blame. I still do not like your evmap. I've written one for you. Use this, the most should work. Try it out and let you know.

    The evmap file is not complete. I know you have more buttons. If it works, we can complete them.
    Irw shows the keystrokes that are translated by eventlirc and the last part of a keyboard shortcut that are not defined in evmap. This is the right part of the file. Evtest shows the real keystrokes and keyboard shortcuts if eventlircd is stopped. This is the left part of the file.
    Remote.conf is defined here. The original 03_1241_e000.evmap file is buggy.

    sudo nano /etc/eventlircd.d/03_1241_e000.evmap

    KEY_UP = KEY_UP

    sudo restart eventlircd

    Let run irw again and poste its output.

    I edited my evmap to show only have the text you posted above.

    Ran the command:
    sudo nano /etc/eventlircd.d/03_1241_e000.evmap

    Still the same happens in xbmc Right key = Right & mute etc etc

    VDR Server (Ubuntu 64bit 11.10 server) - Case: Antec 300, Mobo: Asus P5QL/EPU, CPU: Dual Core E5200, RAM: 4gb, DVB-S2: Tevii S660 & L4M-Twin S2 v6.2, SAS/SATA RAID CARD: Supermicro AOC-USAS-L8I, HDDs: 1*SSD for OS, 10 drives

  • albi_d GOOD NEWS! I have found the problem. Its not the keyboard, Its the Tevii S660 receiver.

    Example: when I press RIGHT on the remote, the speedlink receiver detects the RIGHT command and the Tevii receiver sees the MUTE command. Each receiver is interpreting remote presses differently.

    If I unplug the Tevii receiver the remote works perfectly, but obviously I can't watch TV. Cant believe I didn't try it before.

    Any ideas on how to fix this?

  • duct tape at the remote receiver eye of the S660

    This is a bit strange, but functional.

    You can use the three keystrokes "KEY_A, KEY_O, KEY_M" for other functions. The functions are here.

    Try this for the volume control in XBMC, if it not already works. (Lircmap.xml):

    Code
    <remote device="usb-HOLTEK_YaoCoo-event-mouse">
                    <volumeplus>KEY_VOLUMEUP</volumeplus>
    		<volumeminus>KEY_VOLUMEDOWN</volumeminus>
            </remote>
    </lircmap>
