{Hardware} BM2LTS NVIDIA - Lösung

Hello,
The installation of v2.87 was ok.

- Put new xorg.conf file in X11 , ok

- Make change in etc/re.local from :

xorg-einrichten.sh to # xorg-einrichten.sh

Then select additional drivers ; select 304 proprietary driver - reboot .

Now the screen is all black with flashing cursor - no Nvidia and pc does not work.

Everytime , reboot but nvidia does not work.

I try 340 proprietary driver but same thing.

Same problem as post # 15.

I am again using v2.61 .

1 - Install bm2lts v2.87

ich habe die Anleitung aus #18 durchgeführt. Die nVidia Graka ist nun bei jedem Neustart da. Nur die Filme in Kodi (MKV) ruckeln extrem. (Aber das kannte ich schon von V2.61A. Nach der Installation des Treibers 340.76 lief alles perfekt.) Deshalb habe ich die Anleitung #23 durchgeführt. Mit Version 340.93 ruckeln die Filme erheblich weniger, aber es ist noch zu schlecht. Ich würde noch den Treiber 304 testen. Könnte jemand eine Installationsanleitung posten? Vielen Dank!

Kodi lässt sich nicht beenden. Nach Bestätigung von "Beenden" wird nur das Bild dunkler. Zum Ubuntu-Desktop kommt man nicht mehr.

Nvidia driver 340.93 updates proprietary driver working ok , no problems.

Movies with Kodi are excellent , no stuttering - perfect.

Satellite and tv channels good , with little delay.

There was some pixelation but if you go to :

Change the number in line 21 to 15 or 16 . Now tv in Kodi is good.

The problem with exit in Kodi i had in v15.1 , i upgraded to v15.2 or v16 alpha using synaptic and exit problem gone .

In settings > video > acceleration - mark all the boxes.

In settings > video > playback - unmark sync playback to display .

In settings > system > video output > vertical blank sync > enable during video playback ( important ) for stable 720p and 1080p video.

The GT 720 i am using is better than GT210 - less heat . The card fits perfect in the free space.

a newbie question concerning the usage of a Nvidia GT720 with an AVG II.
I just purchased a Nvidia GT720 to use it with Kodi (thanks for the configuration hints from kdeuser) with an AVG II (3xDVB-C) with BM2LTS v2.88 RC9.
As I understood the proper nvidia driver is already part of this BM2LTS version.
My questions:
- Do I intall the Nvidia card in parallel to the Reel-HDe card?
- Can I switch between Kodi and the VDR OSD
- What route66 post installation hardware option do I use best:
- AVG with internal Netceiver
- BM2LTS NUC with Kodi

AVG with internal Netceiver. The bm2lts nuc with kodi goes specifically with the nuc.

thanks for the hints.

I installed the Nvidia card (the heat sink of my model is pretty large, the eHD only hardly fit into its neighbouring slot; which video card (brand) did you use?) and connected a computer monitor via DVI. Kodi runs without problems (I also use KDE as Desktop-Environment).
But there is no output at the "normal" TV which is connected via HDMI to the eHD.
When I try to open the Reel-setup-menu (via remote-control) I can see in the front panel display that neither the video nor the audio configuration menu is reachable / do not open.
Have you set any specific order for your video card in the BIOS or somewhere else? Any other hint what I can try?

I am using the ( Nvidia MSI gt 720 passive ) , this card has a low heat sink.

Your lack of vdr is strange and nothing to do with bios settings.

Using bm2lts v2.87 - yes there`s some tinkering but now with v2.88 , just install and literally that`s it.

The way i installed v2.88 is without the nvidia 720 .

- Connect vga lead from avg2 to vga connection on tv.

- Insert bm2lts v2.88 iso image into dvd read/writer ( i have my image on pendrive - faster install )

- Go through the install steps 1, 2 and 3. ( Make sure you select INTERNAL NETCEIVER )

- There is a step nr. 4 , here you can select which vdr version to use.

I selected vdr 1.7.29.9 as this is the most stable.

- Power Off

- Now install the nvidia 720 and Restart.

You should have eHD and nvidia 720 working.

No additional settings required , unless you want them.

Configure the vdr - channel lists etc.....

thanks for the information and the links, unfortunately I purchased an Zotac GT 720 Low Profile, not recoginzing on the pictures, that the heat sink is not low profile :).

Thats exactly the way I have installed v2.88 (simply because the GT720 was delivered after I installed v2.88 :)).
I'll exchange the heat sink (luckily its fixed with screws and not with glue) and then do some more testing and reinstall the v2.88 within the next week.

ich habe alle Einstellungen aus #25 vorgenommen und die Grafikkarte funktioniert nun. Vielen Dank!! Manchmal ruckelt das Bild noch etwas. Ich möchte noch die Änderung in "/.kodi/userdata/advancedsettings.xml" durchführen, aber ich kann diesen Pfad nicht finden.

In home/reel/ finde ich keinen Ordner .kodi. (Es sind nur kodi_crashlog Dateien drin)

ich habe es nun mit der Suchfunktion in WinSCP gefunden. (Nachdem die Datei im Suchfenster angeklickt wurde, erscheint diese plötzlich auch im "normalen" Fenster.)

Die Änderung der advancedsettings.xml brachte keine Besserung. Läuft bei euch 3D flüssig? (z.B. mit der GT 720)

Kodi is working very well for me with those settings in post # 25.

Change this setting :

System settings > video output > vertical blank sync > always enabled.

I use confluence as my skin , not confluence++ helix. I find tv works better, so maybe try a different skin .

If you are using Kodi 15.2 try upgrading to Kodi 16.

File Manager > view > show hidden files > reel > .kodi > userdata > advancedsettings.xml

Now it is easy to change settings.

1080p playback for me - perfect!

leider ist mir meine AVG2 verreckt bevor ich BM2LTS draufspielen konnte,
auf meiner Reelbox-lite läuft BM2LTS ja auch nicht
(ich wollte es damit mal ausprobieren.)

Ich benutzte meine AVG2 mit 4 Tunern um mir automatisch interessante Sendungen aufnehmen zu lassen um sie mir dann anzuschauen wenn ich Zeit hatte.
Dazu waren die Suchtimer hinreichend gut brauchbar,
wenn auch noch nicht perfekt geeignet,
aber immer noch besser als das was ich danach ausprobiert habe.

Ich habe mittlerweile schon eine VU+ Duo2 und einen Technicorder ISIO STC ausprobiert
und für untauglich für mich dafür verworfen.

AVG3 wird ja von BM2LTS nicht unterstützt, die AVG2 verbraucht bei Dauereinsatz
übermässig viel Strom (>65 Watt, d.h. bei heutigen Strompreisen sind das ca. 200.-€ im Jahr!).

Welche Standardhardware mit 4 DVB-S2-Tunern gibt es denn noch für BM2LTS?

Ich halte das irgendwie für eine Umbaumöglichkeit für eine defekte AVG.

Könntest du mir mal die insgesamt daraus resultierende Receiverhardware incl. 4 Tunern
wie von mir benötigt skizzieren?

mit welcher Prozedur hast du das Upgrade auf Kodi 16 durchgeführt?
Läuft bei dir auch 3D optimal? Manche Szenen sind bei mir nicht flüssig.
