[vdr-plugin-satip] debug rtsp communication for Inverto OEM devices

  • @all

This is an english speaking thread, main audience for it is vdr-plugin-satip main developer "rofafor", not nativ german speaker.

Looking to complaints that Inverto OEM devices are not running with that plugin properly, it seems there might be a missing communication channel. So that's easy, let's start here ... :)

    For vdr-plugin-satip v1.0.0:

You can debug RTSP communication by issuing a command:

    Code
    svdrpsend plug satip trac 0x12

    ..disabling the tracing:

    Code
    svdrpsend plug satip trac 0

The used bitmasks are described in log.h and the tracing mode can also be set straight from the startup via a command-line option (-t).

Thanks. Tried this but still nothing happens. As discribed with the 0.3.3 there is immediately a tv signal wether encrypted or not. With the 1.0.0 it is random. Rofafor said i have to provide the RTSP communication of both 0.3.3 and 1.0.0. Is there a another way to debug? And where should be the output? In the Syslog?

Je mehr man gelernt hat, desto mehr weiß man, wie wenig man weiß.

  • Network traffic capture (via tcpdump, tshark, wireshark, ...) of the port 554 will do the trick to get started. The 0.3.3 doesn't have the TRAC command yet, so this is the safest bet. Please, contact me directly (PM or email), when you have some debug information to be shared.

Also, to keep things as simple as possible, please, use only one active satip device (-d1) and grep any satip specific syslog entries in your 1.0.0 setup.

  • Ahhh ok, i will try it this afternoon. If there is a result i send it to you via PM. Thank you ;D

  • It looks like the TCP session must be closed during TEARDOWN:

I'll put all the modifications into the GIT repo sometimes next week, when I'm able to compile and test them on my setup too.

  • Yes the free transmitters can be tuned reliably. Only with the coded ones it still hacks now and again. But I think that is a another subject. Thanks for the work. If there is something to test, let me know :] .

My device was and is running fine. I had some log entries that were unclear but TV was working all the time.
I just made it to run on my diskstation NAS and it is lot more stable than USB DVB devices attached because of driver problems.
The NAS ditributes now to clients via streamdev/xvdr and handels recodings. :tup :]
