Using CI of CT3650 for a dvb-t2 tuner?

  • DVB-T2 broadcasting starts in Finland pretty soon and the driver for the nanostick 290e is almost ready :) The problem is that I need a hardware CI to host the rented cam from the operator. As there's only one DVB-T2 tuner available (and it has not a CI), is it possible to use the CI of for example a CT3650? So, does the CI of CT3650 "provide itself" for an another tuner if so desired?

    Running yavdr 0.3

    How should I solve this?

  • forget it, no way!

Even for usage with the built-in DVB-C-tuner you need to patch the CI support into the driver. (There were two times patches on the linuxtv mailing list, both rejected)

    VDR1: ACT-620, Asus P8B75-M LX, Intel Core i3-3240, 4 GB DDR3 RAM 1600 MHz, passive Geforce GT1030 von MSI, Sandisk 2TB SSD, 2xWinTV DualHD, Atric-IR-Einschalter. SW: Xubuntu 20.04 auf 64GB Sandisk SSD.

VDR2: Odroid N2+ mit CoreELEC und Ubuntu in chroot, WinTV DualHD

VDR3: Tanix TX3 mit CoreELEC und Ubuntu in chroot, WinTV DualHD

Every Tuner can use it´s own CI only. So if your DVB-T2 Stick don´t have a CI, you can´t use your Card with this Stick.
