scanning 4 satelites

  • Hi,

My satelite dish is connect to 4 diffrent satelites:
    port 1 - Amos
    port 2 - Nilesat
    port 3 - Hotbird
    port 4 - Astra 19.2

I can't figure out how I am suppost to configure it in yavdr 0.3a in order to scan channels:
I saw that I probably should use the w_scan command - but how should I write the ports there?
Is there am manual for this?

thanks and sorry for all my questions.

  • Hi,

It should be like this(make sure you stop VDR before editing the /etc/vdr/diseqc.conf) and dont forget to edit the /var/lib/vdr/setup.conf file to make DiSEqC = 1

    S4.0W 11700 V 9750 t v W15 [E0 10 38 F0] W15 t
    S4.0W 99999 V 10600 t v W15 [E0 10 38 F1] W15 T
    S4.0W 11700 H 9750 t V W15 [E0 10 38 F2] W15 t
    S4.0W 99999 H 10600 t V W15 [E0 10 38 F3] W15 T

    S7.0W 11700 V 9750 t v W15 [E0 10 38 F4] W15 t
    S7.0W 99999 V 10600 t v W15 [E0 10 38 F5] W15 T
    S7.0W 11700 H 9750 t V W15 [E0 10 38 F6] W15 t
    S7.0W 99999 H 10600 t V W15 [E0 10 38 F7] W15 T

    S13.0E 11700 V 9750 t v W15 [E0 10 38 F8] W15 t
    S13.0E 99999 V 10600 t v W15 [E0 10 38 F9] W15 T
    S13.0E 11700 H 9750 t V W15 [E0 10 38 FA] W15 t
    S13.0E 99999 H 10600 t V W15 [E0 10 38 FB] W15 T

    S19.2E 11700 V 9750 t v W15 [E0 10 38 FC] W15 t
    S19.2E 99999 V 10600 t v W15 [E0 10 38 FD] W15 T
    S19.2E 11700 H 9750 t V W15 [E0 10 38 FE] W15 t
    S19.2E 99999 H 10600 t V W15 [E0 10 38 FF] W15 T

And for scanning for example Hotbird, you should write like this:

    w_scan -fs -s S13E0 -o7 -D 2c >> /var/lib/vdr/channels.conf

type "w_scan -H" for extended list of options
and type "w_scan -fs -s?" to print the list of supported positions

    Regards
    Sami

  • If you use ">> /var/lib/vdr/channels.conf" new channels will be added at the end of the channels.conf. If you just use "> /var/lib/vdr/channels.conf", the channels.conf will be overwritten.

  • thanks for the explanation!

I can't find how to stop vdr..
I tried "sudo /etc/init.d/vdr stop" but it says "commad not found".
I tried "sudo vdr stop" and it says "no primary device found - using first device!" and stuck...
