scanning 4 satelites

It should be like this(make sure you stop VDR before editing the /etc/vdr/diseqc.conf) and dont forget to edit the /var/lib/vdr/setup.conf file to make DiSEqC = 1

And for scanning for example Hotbird, you should write like this:

w_scan -fs -s S13E0 -o7 -D 2c >> /var/lib/vdr/channels.conf

type "w_scan -H" for extended list of options
and type "w_scan -fs -s?" to print the list of supported positions

If you use ">> /var/lib/vdr/channels.conf" new channels will be added at the end of the channels.conf. If you just use "> /var/lib/vdr/channels.conf", the channels.conf will be overwritten.
