1280 geht mit "Accellent", ist im Moment nur ein Proof-of-concept des Programmierers von iTele.
1280 jedenfalls unter 25% Last... Ist Open-Source, wenn der Code ausgereift ist, dürfte er auch in anderen Mac-Videoplayern auftauchen.

Ein Switch zu Intel ist extrem unwahrscheinlich! Die Gespräche zwischen Apple und Intel in der letzten Zeit drehten sich um den neuen WiMAX-Standard für drahtlose Netzwerke... Mich wundert es wirklich, dass so viele Newssites immer wieder auf diese Gerüchte reinfallen.

BTW, kurz vor o.g. Ankündigung hat die "neueste alte" Mac-OS-X@G5-Architektur nach Benchmarks gegen Intel-Systeme folgendes Testurteil "erlitten":

nu isses passiert und weißte was? Ich find's irgendwie gar nicht schlecht. Wenn eine Firma den "Switch" der Architektur einigermaßen schmerzfrei hinbekommt, dann Apple. Jetzt heißt's also warten und sich überraschen lassen...
