Hi.
What doesn't make sense the question or the need to scan hd channels only?
It makes sense to me because I only want to scan HD channels without having to sort them after.
Actually both of them.
ZitatS2-hd channels
Weather a service (this is what you call channel) is transported via DVB-S or DVB-S2 doesnt say anything about it's content, ie. video resolution.
Therefore providers can transport HD services on both of them and the terms 'HD' and 'S2' are two completely independend questions.
To distinguish between HD and SD, w_scan would need to read the video contents transmitted on dvb.
I dont want something like this.
There would be theoretically the component descriptor which gives the information if its HD or not, but i dont expect
to see this descriptor for every HD transmission and if relying on it, services without this descriptor would not be listed.
To filter for services transmitted on DVB-S2 is easier, but they may be HD, SD, or without video at all.
Therefore i suggest to do a full scan and filter the results on shell,
based on your ideas which one of those services might be a HD service. Which one of those is S2 you can see easily.
Thanks for the clarification, much appreciated for all the work.

Yes, DVB-S2 filter implementation would be good, as the provider I am interested has all HD services/channels, on DVB-S2 and sd on DVB-S, but as per your suggestion I have simply used the grep command and filter the channels file, like this.
Zitatgrep HD channles-file > sorted-file
Cheers
