Looks like an expensive and ugly version of a Zbox. Some yaVDR Team members owns Zboxes HD-ID 40, like me. yaVDR runs fine on them. I can't see a reason why it shouldn't run on the xtreamer.

I remember two users who did it: Xtreamer Ultra + Sundtek MediaTV Pro Total hang in yaVDR 0.4

  • Hi mushroom,

I have an Extreamer Ultra with yaVDR 0.4 running on it and I am quite happy with it.
    My DVB-S2 receiver is a TechnoTrend TT-connect S2-3600.
It is not the cheapest hardware but building an own HTPC would have been much more expensive.

yaVDR is installed on a 2.5" 320GB hard disc and in parallel I have inserted the 16GB SSD from Xtreamer with openElec and XBMC (this runs very stable!).

You will have to do some fine tuning for yaVDR (e.g. configuring remote control which I have not managed yet, grrr :wand )
Also yaVDR hangs often after booting but will run next time after reset. (solution here is to add Grub parameter panic=5 then it will automatically reset after 5s in case of kernel oops).

But what I love is the low power consumption, it automatically wakes up on timers and goes to off again afterwards, recording HDTV, and the full VDR convenience.

    Hi JackOneill.

You can follow this link and some next to configure the remote:
    Total hang in yaVDR 0.4

    Follow Seahawk1986's messages.

I have also a Xtreamer Ultra and I have sometimes some complete hangs (I have tried changing hard disk to another Xtreamer, and so far it works fine) but never had a problem after booting.

    Regards.
