[satip Plugin] Pid update failed....(ERLEDIGT)

  • Hi,

    Code
    Feb 16 18:55:35 [vdr] [6758] curl_easy_perform() [rtsp.c,281] failed: Timeout was reached (28)
    Feb 16 18:55:35 [vdr] [6758] SATIP-ERROR: Pid update failed - retuning [device 0]

    Code
    vdr01_64 ~ # vdr -V -P satip
vdr (2.1.10/2.1.10) - The Video Disk Recorder
    satip (2.2.0-GIT-6b63ad1) - SAT>IP Devices
    vdr01_64 ~ #

The only limitation is max 16 devices. If you encounter "pid update error", it means that your SAT>IP server doesn't accept the requested pid changes. This might be due to the excessive flow of requests that the server does't handle (you could try to slowdown the update frequency) or the server runs out of hw pid filters or ....

Vielleicht lässt sich ja da was rausfinden.

  • Please, provide all the information when reporting bugs. Now, one must only guess, how you've messed up your setup:

    • You're not using a supported satip plugin version.
    • You haven't stated which SAT>IP server produces the error.
    • You haven't provided information how many pids were active on the faulty SAT>IP server.
    • ...
  • Und woran lag es?

  • It seems that you're still getting RTP packet errors. These might be due a network component that's shuffling the order of UDP packets from time to time. The satip plugin doesn't fix up the packet order, but simply states about errors in the stream.

  • I'm not sure, if i understand this?

I can find "RTP packet errors" every 5-10 Mins. in the Log, but i dont know, whre they come from?

In case of the "RTP packet errors" i've get micro freezers and/or Artifacts.

I already told you in my earlier post:
    - You're experiencing UDP packet loss in your network
    - One of your network component is reordering UDP packets. I've seen this happen on faulty QoS settings and/or overloaded routers.
    - minisatip doesn't handle counter overflow correctly.
    - ...

  • @ rofafor,

    your Suggestion was right!

[...] One of your network component is reordering UDP packets. I've seen this happen on faulty QoS settings and/or overloaded routers. ...

I've investigated my Network and i found this in the Setup of my Fritzbox 7490 (FRITZ!OS 06.20):

I dont know who has enabled the "green Mode" for this Port. [Blockierte Grafik: http://imageshack.com/a/img132/9122/c91.gif] :wand

The LAN2 Prort was connected via D-LAN with my SAT>IP-Server:

After disabling the "green Mode", the "rtp errors" are reduced to one error each 1 - 1,5 hours.

Then i've changed my Network Setup as follow:

    [Blockierte Grafik: http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/xq90/661/Qaez34.png]

Since i've connnected the SAT>IP-Server directly via my HP-1910-8G Switch, i've got not one(!) "rtp error" anymore in the last 24 hours! :tup

The Speed via D-LAN is not really fast,

but it's enough for watching two HD, and two SD Channel simultaneous. ;)

Maybe i'll find some time in the next few months, for installing new CAT-7 cables. ;)
