OSD per Putty mit vdr-1.7.0

Hallo,
und schon das nächste Problem mit meinem neuen VDR.

Bei meinem alten VDR hab ich das Control-Plugin verwendet um von meinem Windows-Rechner mit Putty den VDR fernzusteuern. Leider hab ich mit dem Control-Plugin nun aber ein großen Problem.

Sobald ich eine Taste im im Putty drücke geht die Rechenlast der VDR auf 99%. Ich kannte das Problem das dies geschehen kan wenn man Putty nicht richtig beendet, hab aber die aktuelle Version des control-Plugins 0.0.2.a-kw3 verwendet in der diese Probleme ja nicht mehr auftretten sollten. Eigentlich hab ich ja auch kein Problem beim Beenden der Verbindung, sondern sobald man eine Taste im Putty drückt. Alternativ hab ich die Sourcen von meinem alten VDR probiert (dort klappt ja alles), hatte aber genau das gleiche Problem. Ich denke also das es am vdr-1.7.0 liegen könnte.

Als Alternative hab ich noch das Remote-Plugin probiert. Die Tastenbelegung für das Remote-Plugin hab ich aus dem vdr-wiki genutzt (dort ist eine Beispielkonfiguration für den tcp-port 3333). Die Tasten wären laut Log auch bekannt, ich hab im Putty die Tastatur auch auf Linux gestellt, jedoch reagiert Putty auf keine Tasten.

Es erscheint nur die Zeile "VDR Remote Plugin - tcp:3333", und das wars. Keinerlei Bedienung über Putty möglich.

Hab also 2 Fragen:
Was könnte die hohe Rechenlast bei der Verwendung des Control-Plugins verursachen?
Warum reagiert das Remote-Plugin im Putty nicht?

RE: OSD per Putty mit vdr-1.7.0

Hallo Uwe,

verwende ebenfalls das control-0.0.2a-kw3 Plugin in Verbindung mit vdr-1.7.0 über Putty. Habe damit keinerlei Probleme. Die Prozesslast steigt bei entsprechenden Tastendrücken ganz normal um ein paar Prozent, wenn sich halt das OSD aufbauen muß etc. Mit dem älteren control-Plugin gab's da wirklich Probleme. Hmm, hilft Dir wohl auch nicht weiter...

nee hilft nicht wirklich. Aber zumindest weis ich das es gehen muss. Welche patches hast du denn im vdr drin und welche plugins verwendest du zusätzlich?

Hab jetzt nur noch das xineliboutput und das control plugin laufen und sobald ich eine taste im remote ODS drücke springt der vdr auf 99% Rechnelast (bis ich vdr restart mache).

Folgende patches hab ich verwendet:

dazu passende h264 und h264-s2 patches

Hallo,
hab jetzt nur noch das dummydevice und das control-plugin, und dennoch erzeugt es 99% Rechenlast sobald man einen knopf im remote-osd drückt.

Hab vorher sogar noch den vdr inkl. plugins neu erzuegt (mit den gleichen defines wie du).

Bin echt ratlos. Wenn es mit dem Control-Plugin nicht geht, wäre es ja auch schon OK das remote-plugin über putty zum laufen zu bekommen, aber das geht ja auch nicht :-(

* hatte es mit 1.6.x noch geklappt?
* passiert das nur bei Tasten, die definiert sind?
* klappt es mit einer "nackten" vdr 1.7 (keine Patches, nur Controlplugin und dummydevice)?
* klappt es auf der Linuxkonsole?

Hallo,
mit vdr 1.6 konnte ich nicht testen, da ich den Rechner neu aufgesetzt und gleich mit dem vdr 1.7 begonnen habe (soll ja dvb-s2 werden).

Es ist ganz egal welche Taste man drück. Hab mit # und i (die dürften ja nun nicht definiert sein) probiert. Bei beiden (jeweil neu gestarteten vdr und neu verbunden mit dem control-plugin) geht die Rechenlast auf 99% und bleibt so lange bis man den vdr neu startet so hoch.
Was mich wundert ist das sich die Rechenlast laut top auf User und System aufteilt. Der vdr scheint also nicht nur "mit sich selbst" in einer Heizschleife beschäftigt zu sein.

Ich habe es mit einem so nackten vdr probiert wie es geht (musste zumindest den extensionpatch inkl. h264-s2 patchen, damit ich es mit meinem dvb-s2-treiberverzeichnis übersetzen konnte). Leider selbes Ergebnis (die 2 Plugins hab ich auch neu übersetzt).

Wenn ich von der lokalen Linuxkonsole probiere komme ich auch zu dem selben Ergebnis :-(

(die Nummern ändern sich aber in den Einträgen)

Benutzt das control-plugin irgendwas kritischen im kernel was ich vergessen haben könnte (hab den Kernel 2.6.28.4 übersetzt).

Der Segfault ist sicher ein weiterer Effekt des Problems, aber nicht die Ursache. Das hat nichts mit kritischen Kernelsachen zu tun. IIRC benutzt das Plugin nur Sockets für (TCP/IP). Dass da "Kernel" steht, heisst nur, daß der Kernel den Segfault bemerkt hat ("vdr" kann da nicht stehen, da vdr ja gerade starb).

Ich kann den Fehler nicht nachvollziehen (auch weil ich eine FF-Karte nutze). Vielleicht (nimms nicht persönlich, man muß nach allem fragen) ist es ne alte Controlplugin-Zwischenversion? Hast Du alles selber compiliert? Wenn ja: Aktiviere in global.h doch mal ganz oben (ca. Zeile 13) das Debuggen:

Plugin neu compilieren und vdr neustarten. Fehler herbeiführen und ins Log schauen. Das sollte dann was sagen.

Alternativ oder zusätzlich: vdr und Plugin mit Debugcode compilieren und mit gdb einen backtrace machen. Nein, ich möchte das nicht fernschriftlich erklären :-)

Hallo,

gesagt -> getan. Anbei das Syslog (also das was mit control zu tun hat).
Ich habe putty geöffnet, 1s gewartet, Menu geöffnet, 1s gewartet, Menu geschlossen, 5s gewartet, putty beendet, kurz gewartet, vdr beendet.

Kannst du daraus was lesen? Der versucht schon ganz schön oft was zu lesen, außerdem macht er ganz oft "test option (xx)".

Hallo,
auch ohne enigmang gab es das Problem. Habe nur mit dummydevice und control getestet und es hat dennoch nicht funktioniert.

ich komme weder mit dem control noch mit dem remote-plugin weiter. Wer ist denn der Entwickler/Betreuer des Control-Plugins (bzw. des Remote-Plugins)? Vielleicht könnte mir der ja helfen (kann ja mal per Mail fragen).

Hallo,
auch wenn das hier irgendwie zu einem Selbstgespräch wird, schreib ich mal ein Update zur Situation.

Ich denke ich habe das Problem auf Netzwerktreiber/Kernel einschränken können. Es tritt auch auf wenn ich wirklich nur fertige Pakete benutze. Was hab ich getestet:

ctvdr 6.2, auf Lenny aktualisiert, Kernel von e-Tobi benutzt, vdr, dummydevice und control von e-tobi -> gleicher Fehler
ctvdr 6.2, auf Lenny aktualisiert, Kernel von e-Tobi benutzt, aber neuen realtek-Treiber eingebaut, vdr, dummydevice und control von e-tobi -> gleicher Fehler
ctvdr 6.2, auf Lenny aktualisiert, Kernel von e-Tobi benutzt, vdr, dummydevice und control selbst erzeugt -> gleicher Fehler
Lenny 5 von einem Debian-Mini-Iso mit Kernel 2.6.26, vdr, dummydevice und control von e-tobi -> gleicher Fehler

Ich hab also unterschiedliche Pakete, Kernel und Treiber verwendet und immer gab es das gleiche Problem. Ich denke fast das die Kerneltreiber irgendwelche Probleme mit meiner Onboard-Netzwerkkarte haben.

Die gleichen Pakete in einer VM funktionieren aber problemlos.
Da werd ich mir wohl eine PCI-Express Netzwerkkarte (die 3 PCI-Steckplätze sind ja mit DVB-Karten belegt) holen müssen. Werden die denn von Linux unterstützt?

Auch wenn Dir es nicht unbedingt weiterhilft, aber ich verwende auch das Control-Plugin (aktuelle Version) mit vdr-1.7.0 ext. Patch 64, xineliboutput ist bei mir auch installiert und aktiviert. Alldings läuft bei mir alles problemlos.

Hallo zulu,
wie im Anfangsbeitrag erwähnt hab ich das Remote-Plugin über TCP nicht zum laufen bekommen. Das hat aber jetzt funktioniert (waren falsche Optionen im Putty, und ich wusste nicht das man mit Pos1 das Menu öffnet anstatt mit m).

Somit hat sich mein Problem durch die Verwendung vom remote-Plugin gelöst. Vorher habe ich aber noch allerlei Sachen probiert:

Verschiedene Netzwerkkarten (onboard und 2 verschiedene PCI), verschiedenste Kernel (2.6.18, 2.6.26, 2.6.26-e-tobi, selber erzeugten 2.6.28), verschiedenste Pakete (selber erzeugte, von e-tobi, die welche auf meinem anderen VDR funktionieren).
Und das interessante ist das in allen Kombinationen der Fehler immer aufgetretten ist. Das einzige was ich nicht getauscht habe ist das Board (Gigabyte EP31-DS3L) und die CPU (Celeron 420).

Naja, jedenfalls klappt nun alles so wie es soll und ich muss nur noch auf meine DVB-S2 Karte warten, VGA2Scart am TV probieren und testen ob ich am optischen Ausgang des Mainboards Ton raus bekomme.
