irrecord: gap not found, can't continue
irrecord: closing '/dev/usb/hiddev0'
its getting very bad.any remote controls working out of the box? -
well satelco was a no go so i tried again medion x10
it seems to work but with only a few buttons and these are false for example acquire image button is behaves like menu button.which is the correct way to configure the r/c to behave correctly?
i was very tired with r/c setup so if anyone is able to give me a noob guide i would be grateful.i can also give ssh access if anyone can fix it for me -
Hello, could you post a link to an image of your remote? I have this model: http://vdr-wiki.de/wiki/images…nbedienung_Medion_X10.jpg and could post my keytable for it (the additional packet linux-media-dkms is needed, so a rc-core driver for this remote is used)
-
seems i am lucky now.i have the same model.i also installed linux-media-dkms before
-
Here is my config (should be saved as /etc/rc_keymaps/rc-medion-x10):
Code
Alles anzeigen# table rc-medion-x10, type:other 0xc500 = KEY_MUTE 0xc702 = KEY_POWER2 0xc904 = KEY_DVD 0xca05 = KEY_IMAGES 0xcb06 = KEY_AUDIO 0xcd08 = KEY_VOLUMEDOWN 0xce09 = KEY_VOLUMEUP 0xd00b = KEY_CHANNELUP 0xd10c = KEY_CHANNELDOWN 0xd20d = KEY_1 0xd30e = KEY_2 0xd40f = KEY_3 0xd510 = KEY_4 0xd611 = KEY_5 0xd712 = KEY_6 0xd813 = KEY_7 0xd914 = KEY_8 0xda15 = KEY_9 0xdb16 = KEY_TEXT 0xdc17 = KEY_0 0xdd18 = KEY_CHANNEL 0xde19 = KEY_MENU 0xdf1a = KEY_UP 0xe01b = KEY_SETUP 0xe11c = KEY_SEARCH 0xe21d = KEY_LEFT 0xe31e = KEY_OK 0xe41f = KEY_RIGHT 0xe520 = KEY_DELETE 0xe621 = KEY_PREVIOUS 0xe722 = KEY_DOWN 0xe823 = KEY_NEXT 0xe924 = KEY_REWIND 0xea25 = KEY_PLAY 0xeb26 = KEY_FORWARD 0xec27 = KEY_RECORD 0xed28 = KEY_STOP 0xee29 = KEY_PAUSE 0xf12c = KEY_VIDEO 0xf22d = KEY_PVR 0xf32e = KEY_RADIO 0xf42f = KEY_TIME 0xf530 = KEY_CHANNEL 0xf631 = KEY_EPG 0xf732 = KEY_RED 0xf833 = KEY_GREEN 0xf934 = KEY_YELLOW 0xfa35 = KEY_BLUE 0xfb36 = KEY_INFO 0xfc37 = KEY_ESC 0xfd38 = KEY_MENU 0xfe39 = KEY_SCREEN 0xff3a = KEY_RADIO
In order to use it, you will have to add this line to /etc/rc_maps.cfg (use a custom Template as described in http://www.yavdr.org/tutorials…s-to-configuration-files/ to prevent future updates to overwrite it):
After a reboot most keys should work - I reseved some for irexec actions - if needed rename them to the approriate keyname (as found in /etc/vdr/remote.conf)I used the keys "EDIT IMAGE" for menu, "ACQUIRE IMAGE" for back/exit and "RENAME" for info.

If you want to setup a new lircd.conf via irw you have to stop the following three services:
sudo service vdr stop
sudo service lircd stop
sudo service eventlircd stopthen start irw and it will work!
If you have finished simply type the same services in but at this time with "start" at the end.

Please read the thread carefully - mushroom says he is using a X10 remote control which has two possible driver modules called ati_remote in yaVDR 0.4. Without linux-media-dkms it will be recognized as a keyboard (and an udev rule is used to bind it to eventircd), when linux-media-dkms in installed it will be treated as a rc-core remote.

23rd post: setup remote control with irw new problem, new solution
BTW: AFAIK irw is for testing a lircd configuration, not for creating a new one...
