Hi there,
firstly, I apologise if I have posted this in the wrong place. I don't know if it is a Debian/Ubuntu, VDR or driver issue.
Secondly, I tried searching the forums, but my German is a little rusty. High school was a long time ago.
I've had success with a VDR/XBMC setup in the past, on Ubuntu Lucid Lynx, even if the whole setup was a little fragile. I have tried both the TechnoTrend S-3200 and the KNC One TV-Station (Mystique SaTiX-SE) (separately), with an Irdeto CAM, using the CI on each board. And then something happened. I am not sure if it was a kernel update, a VDR update (I was using yaVDR's testing PPA) or something else, but I have been unable to get VDR to tune to a channel, or even perform a successful channel scan. (I'm in South Africa, and tune into Intelsat 7/10 S68.5E).
I have since updated my pc to:
Linux 2.6.38-11-generic #48-Ubuntu SMP Fri Jul 29 19:02:55 UTC 2011 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
and nothing has changed - I still can't tune to a channel from within VDR, or perform a channel scan. However, szap, Kaffeine and Me-TV are all able to scan and tune to channels without any issues.
The output to syslog from Wirbelscan:
"Aug 31 10:41:27 iris vdr: Running on VDR 1.7.18 (with internal Plugin support. :-))

The error when trying to tune to a channel:
I have a universal LNB, and no DiSEqC switch (I have fiddled with the setting out of desperation).
Any tips of suggestions on where to look to solve this?
(Strangely enough - Mythtv also fails to scan for channels).
Thanks
