What can I do to get it working?

    Thanks

Well, you try to use and install from pretty old repositories, which doesn't contain packages for Oneiric.

Define and configure one of our actual repositories from here: https://launchpad.net/~yavdr

We provide Oneiric packages in unstable Branch, which means they are either unstable or do underlie massive changes w/o any warning.

Alternatively you could use VDR from Ubuntu repositories, they do offer VDR in version 1.7.18 in the meantime.

    Good luck.

  • Hi,

I tried the sudo add-apt-repository ppa:yavdr/testing-vdr but it gives me trouble..(works once then keep having to reinstall it to get it working)

The vdr in repositories dont have the vdr-plugin-vnsiserver

Can you give me instructions as to how to install from pretty old repositories or how to Define and configure your repositories

    Many Thanks,

What is unclear on "unstable Branch"?

    Code
    #/> apt-add-repository ppa:yavdr/main
    #/> apt-add-repository ppa:yavdr/unstable-vdr
    #/> apt-add-repository ppa:yavdr/unstable-xbmc

And preferably get rid of all other defined repositories ...

  • I think its a vdr prob, not sure i'll install 11.04 and report back..

Well, in this case you may think about to install "yaVDR64 0.4" directly, which is based on Ubuntu 11.04 (Natty Narwahl)(amd64).

  • Hi fnu,

I was thinking about that, but didn't as I use ubuntu for virtualbox, gimp etc...

(Thats my next goal when more money comes in is to have yaVDR box as i think your project is great!)

Anyway it must be a config file somewhere as 11.04 stable repos gave me the same prob..

So i reinstalled 11.10, is there a VDR log somewhere?, as i'm sure im doing something wrong..

what other things/logs would you like to make things work?

  • Hold on a sec..

    The features say:

    Zitat

X11 runs on tty9 to leave tty7 unused for experienced users who want to install a desktop environment manually.

does that mean i can install a desktop? if so how to switch to it when needed?

And I partition 1 for /, 1 for home and 1 for swap do the same?

how to upgrade yaVDR in the future?

    Many thanks...

  • I think it could be a vdr problem or video4linux:

    Asus p7131 Hybrid Tv Card

    I scanned using:
    sudo /etc/init.d/vdr stop
    w_scan -cAU >> channels4.conf
    and nothing...

    If i un-install vdr & reboot i get channels..
    If i reboot nothing again..
I have to un-intall vdr again reboot etc...

How can i find the problem?

    Thanks
