vdr-plugin-satip not loading automatically

  • Hi,

Please excuse me for not making a laughable attempt at posting in German.

I've been happily using the vdr packages from https://launchpad.net/~aap/+archive/ubuntu/vdr for quite a while, but as the maintainer doesn't package some plugins like femon and especially satip I'm trying to switch to the yavdr unstable repository at https://launchpad.net/~yavdr/+archive/ubuntu/unstable-vdr

However, the default vdr config refuses to load the satip plugin automatically. The plugin works perfectly when manually loading it, for example like this:

    Code
    /usr/bin/vdr -P 'satip -d 1' -P vnsiserver

All other plugins from the same repository (epgsearch, femon, live, iptv, svdrpservice ...) load just fine using the default config. The satip-related files and symlinks in /etc/vdr/config.d and /etc/vdr/config.avail look absolutely correct. What am I missing?

Last week I compiled the plugin manually for the "aap" packages, and then vdr did find the plugin by itself.

It seems that the satip.conf file is missing a section header telling the vdr, that the plugin should be loaded. Try something like this:

    Code
    [satip]
-d 1 # number of tuners to use

I have already uploaded a package with an updated file some minutes ago, so you can either fix this by hand or wait for the next package update.
