Sorry, I didn"t in your readme, that plugin play didn't work with osd in full screen mode with window manager. Window has name "play control" ...
I'm using Gnome 3 in Suse without desktop effects. SoftHDDevice works correctly in fullscreen mode with Gnome without desktop effects, but when I switch on desktop effects, Softhddevice works in window mode , same as mplayer ...

I forgot to write, I used this parameter vhen vdr starts...
-f -g 1920×1080+0+0 -v .......

but mplayer starts alwaysv inn window...When I look for ( ps -ef |grep mplay ) all parameters are all right

After upgrading my VDR to new OpenSuse distro I tried to use OSD with play plugin, but when I usu -o parameter , mplayer ignores parameter -fs and plays in window
VDR 1.7.42, play + softhddevice from git, Opensuse 32bit or 64 bit, NVIDIA VDPAU ( AT5IONT ), last nvidia driver

I have two problems :
1. When I'watching HD channels with higher bitrate and I want detach softhd , It's not possible .. After timeout (watchdog in VDR) VDR restarts .. But It' s not big problem for me..

2. ATTA and DETA don't work with 0.5.2.rc1 correctly

I'm using VDR with softhddevice and xvdr plugin for XBMC. When I have to switch to XBMC , I only detach ( plug softhddevice deta ) softhddevice and VDR works in background as a server. When I stop watching XBMC , I only plug softhddevice frontend (plug softhddevice atta ) . It works until I compiled last version from git.

After (automatically) upgrading to new xvdr-addon (20120625) from repo xbmc totally freez on 32-bit machines.

I have to kill xbmc with kill -9 ...

On 64-bit machines xbmc still works, because there is in repository old version ( 20120313 ).

I tried compile new xvdr plugin for vdr also from git repo...

My config :

OpenSuse 12.1, 32 bit ( also 64 bit )

Hmm, mein HD-Receiver ist noch nicht da, insofern kann ich zum HD-Problem selbst nix sagen. Allerdings: Versuch doch mal softhddevice läuft bei mir (auch 1.7.27 OS 12.1) gefühlt runder als xineliboutput. Insbesondere (@ ivonovak): Das Umschalten ist sehr viel angenehmer.

I have similar problem,
when I'm recording HD channel and when I want to watch this recording with delay ( aka timeshift ) about 30-40 min due to advertising sometimes VDR crash after 50-60 minutes.

VDR 1.7.27 over plugin - xineliboutput , OpenSuse 12.1, 32bit, standard kernel, VDPAU, Intel Atom + NVIDIA ( ION2 ) - Asus AT5IONT-I, 4GB RAM, HDMI out,

With 1.7.26 it works without problem ....

And another problem - but it is problem with version of xineliboutput and it is on SD and HD channels :
When i switch to new channel, video start about 0.7 sec without problem, but audio is choppy for few seconds ( 3-4 ) and after that it works perfectly. This problem appear with cvs version of xineliboutput from the beginnig of March. In older cvs version ( February 2012.. - .... 2011 ) switching channel works without audio problem

I'm not new in VDR and XBMC, but I'm still confused with picture qualitty in XBMC, especially on MPEG SD channels .

My configuration :
openSuse11.4, Mandriva 2010.2 32-bit
VDR 1.7.18, xine-lib2, xineliboutput with VDPAU, ION2(AT5ION-I) - but same problem with other config with NVIDIA card ..
TV : SAMSUNG UE46C6000

Picture qualitty with VDR and xineliboutput is PERFECT with SD and HD channels, recordings anf SD/HD files too..

Picture qualitty with XBMC and VDPAU is much worse then with xinelib. I tried many settings in xorg.conf, "Guisettings" etc....
- HD Files(h264, mkv..), aka BlueRay rip playes perfectly!
- SD and HD Files with noninterlaced material is perfect
- HD material with interlaced material - picture qualiity as same as with xineliboutput, but sometimes playback is "choppy"
- SD interlaced material ( sport channels,.. ) is much worse as with xineliboutput. Picture looks like "Blur" and sometimes is "choppy" and in top of screen picture is horizontaly shifted..

Problem is probably in Deinterlacer or HQ picture upscaling ...

I'm tried many tutorials and setting with deinterlacer and upscaling, but no success . VDR with xineliboutput is still much better.. Have anybody same problem ? I'm not able to compare with other friends, because nobody's using XBMC ...

- any idea for setting in xorg.conf and xbmc guisettings ??

I found patches in pvr-testing2/xbmc/pvrclients/vdr-streamdev/patches/ .
Its necessary to aply at least 3 patches ( streamdev-cvs221109-* ) to streamdev plugin !
After that recording plays very well !

I"m not able to play any recordings in XBMC pvrtesting2 via streamdev. I paste this problem to xbmc portal, http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?t=74191 but no answer.

I am not able to play any recordings from VDR backend. Recording via VDR works perfectly. MPEG2 files ( *.vdr -from vdr 1.6.0 and *.ts - vdr 1.7.x ) and H264 files ( *.ts ) works perfectly via Videos - Play. But If I want to play recordings via Live TV -> Recordings XBMC always freeze. After few minutes message box said "Unable to play video"

I tried to play this video with and without VDPAU but wit no success.
Live TV from VDR backend works perfectly via Streamdev and VNSI too.
Configuration :
OS Mandriva 64b / Mandriva 32b same result - XBMC freeze
NVDIA drivers v. 195.36.24
Streamdev - cvs, VNSI - last version
XBMC - pvrtesting2 , svn version
VDPAU enabled/disabled, AdvancedGLX, Basic GLx,SW same result
VDR backend on local machine and tested with VDR on the other machine.

NVIDIA over VDPAU works perfectly over RGB2SCART and over TV-OUT too ( if TV Out is on VGA card ) . I have old 8400GS/512MB . The problem is only while booting OS. TV out and VGA works after X start.

I have problem with XBMC with SD channels or SD video in MPEG2 format - XBMC won't use VDPAU, for HD format (h264), XBMC using VDPAU correctly, but for SD - MPEG, XBC using libmpeg2 and decoded by SW not HW !

vdr1.6.2/1.7.10/ VDPAU with 8400GS

On XBMC forum I found that XBMC don't use VDPAU fo SD format MPEG. Have you same problem ? What about using external ffmeg with correctly functioned VDPAU ?
