I had this with gentoo and V4L, I simpy make && make install in the DVB directory and the driver now works perfectly.

Firstly I'd like to say hi to everyone, and what a great forum this is!.

Right back to topic.

Im running gentoo with a 2.6.17 kernel, vdr 1.4.xx with the latest V4L drivers.

I've read and translated a lot of pages but I still cannot get streamdev working with vdr 1.4.xx, i've tried the guide on the "hooch" website but that doesnt compile properly even if I get the patches working properly.

I did find one version of streamdev that appeared to work and that was from a post written in german on here somewhere, but the problem I found is that version of streamdev didnt have the option to use a external remux i.e. by http://xx.xx.xx.xx:3000/Extern/30 which will call the external remux script located in "/root/externremux.sh"

I really need to get that working as i'd like to stream video over the internet at a lower bitrate using mencoder.

Any help greatfully recieved!.
