Please give more information so that help is possible !
In general usb wifi and linux is a tricky thing.
The preferred way is to look for compatible hardware and then install it - not the other way around.But please provide: Modelname and number of the USB Wifi Dongle
and at console/terminal/putty generate output ofto help identify the stick.
Important is the device id number.Or you can check with the list here:

Please note that in all ubuntu versions it is identified it is just not identified in YAVDR, it is TL-WN422G.

According to this thread here the driver should be available in the kernel of ubuntu 11.04 - so it should be available in the kernel of yavdr 0.4
So you have to follow the thread to get the firmware installed.

Then you might need to installwpa_supplicant and configure the network according to your wifi setup.
