[UPDATE] VDR-1.4.7 mit Extensions-Patch v40 und einigen neueren Plugins

Hallo Leute,

hab bei meinen Einstellungen im vdr-admin nur die Sprache von Default auf Deutsch geändert und nach dem speichern, sehe ich nur noch Linksakat beim aufrufen vom vdr-admin.

Wie kann ich den vdr-admin über z.b. Putty wieder zurücksetzen (bitte erklären für Newbies)

VDR admin Problem ... irgendwie wurde beim updaten der Channels über vdradmin mein passwort auch gleich geändert

ich kann jetzt auf die vdradminseite zwar zugreifen aber alle logins root linvdr und guest werden nicht mehr als login akzeptiert ...

Lösung:
in der vdradmin.conf stand das passwort

Das würde mich jetzt auch mal interessieren.
Ansonsten müsste ich langsam mal - wie so viele andere auch - mich nach einer anderen Distri umschauen.

ich habe die 0.3.0-5 probiert. Es gibt etliche Compiler errors. Ein paar konnte ich umgehen, aber mindestens ein ungelöstes Problem bleibt. Ich habe dem Entwickler mal eine PN geschickt. Falls er keine Idee hat, war`s das leider.

Sorry for asking this in English, but i'm quite stuck with my linvdr. I've been trying to search for subtitles-plugin for vdr-1.4.7 v40 but I can only find source for this from http://vdr-online.org/.

I'm currently using much older version of linvdr becouse this subtitles plugin-problem. I would be really nice to be able to use new version, but I don't have developer environment to compile plugins myself.

I would greatly appriciate if anyone could help to find compiled version of this plugin; here in Finland we tend to subtitle lots of programs.

the vdr-1.4.7-ext40 package includes the subtitles plugin (version 0.5.0). This is the latest (and last) version of the plugin

Maybe I'm missing something. After installing according to vdr-online.org Idon't have subtitles in setup-> vdr plugins and not in any directory.

ah, you are right.
Toxic-Tonic stated, that the subtitles plugin is not included because it requires a patch on vdr itself. This patch has a conflict with another patch which is needed for livebuffer.

I guess it might be possible in the meantime to solve this, at least by removing the livebuffer-stuff. But it would require to compile vdr and ALL plugins again. Even I did not manage to get all plugins compiled (there is still something missing on my development system)

Hi,

I'm using 1.3.24, which has working subtitles.

Plugins I'm using:

Streamdev-server (haven't been able to got externremux.sh to work)
femon
mplayer
skinelchi
statusleds
subtitles
ttxsubs

So I hope by updating I could get remuxing to work and stream to my laptop when I'm abroad.
I have setup ubuntu with vdr and vlc streaming from v4l but it's annoying to have lots of extra stuff when linvdr + updates work like a charm.

Which kind of output hardware are you using in your vdr machine?

If it's a pvr350 you won't get extstremdev.sh working.
There are some probs getting the stream via stdin/stdout. I don't know why - for now, i wasn't able to fix this.

But you can use the "normal" PES Stream. This should work fine in a fast Ethernet environment.

But if you're not using a pvr350 for output, you may have an other Problem.

Hi,

I'm using p4@3ghz, Technotrend FF DVB-T-card and Nova as second card. Output is from j2 to tv. No displaycard, no cd/dvd drive, so I've taken off all extra hardware to save power.

Ubuntu-test was intresting; it was quite easy to set up vdr and vlc in graphical environment (read: I'm newbie with linux).
I got vlc to remux whole vdr stream with osd by taking the video output from v4l/video0 and sound from soundcard (wasn't able to get sound anywhere else, so I needed to wire ff-card sound out to sound blaster input. CPU usage while encoding was suprisingly low.
This method was really good way for streaming becouse it's not caring what channel is on, it streams everything same what you see on tv. So no need to restart streaming after channel change.

But this full ubuntu is way too heavy for this purpose, where Linvdr is elegant, compact - but - needs more deep understanding of scripting and coding - and that I don't have enough yet.

I wonder if there is vlc compiled for linvdr -linux? (debian variant I suppose)....

development of LinVDR has stopped years ago. There are still some contributions coming from users like me, but don`t expect a solution for the externremux.sh problem. There are several reports about problems with it.
