Patched 2.1.6, so far no VDR crashes like I had before. Fast zapping with the motorola streamdev clients killed VDR, I've even build in a delay in my script to slow down zapping. But it looks like it is cured.
Thanx!!

Works great, no need for much cpu power on the server. My setup is an old P4 as server. Client can be a Pi, smartTV or like I do motorola iptv client.
With server setup you have a central timer and recording location. And I think your server is running already 24/7 at the moment so for a recording you don't need more hardware powered on. Might save some on your power bill

QuoteWhat is it?
A javascript client running on Motorola VIP hardware to access a VDR server.
Tested with VIP1963, VIP1903, VIP1960 & VIP1910, but should run on other VIP models too.
Motorola VIPs are used by eg KPN in Holland, Poda in Czech Republic for IPTV and can be found for cheap on auctions sites.
I still have problems but only with fast zapping on a streaming client which uses streamdev. Don't know if it is related.
Is there a way to see after the recording is ready, what card was used for recording?
So you can trouble shoot it afterwards.
Happy birthday VDR & thnx to Klaus for this software.
Manual entering 27500 in channel list should solve it, right?
I have fun tv in my list, vdr found the other channels without any problem. (Hardware s2-1600 & tevii s464 )
You're using 1 tuner if on the same transponder.
Some screen shot of the new skin.
Just released a new version of the client.
Big change skinning is possible. Old skin is converted to CSS, new black skin made by my mate Marc.

Motorola says about it

Optional Hard Disk Drive
System-on-chip 450 DMIPS processor
5.1 digital audio
HDMI connectivity with HDCP support
Component video (Y Pb Pr) connectivity
DVR functionality including time shift, recording and viewing separate programs and instant or scheduled recording"
Look at post #30.
if you use the original patch there is no dvb-s in the driver.
Some info :
It's a HD upgrade for < 20 euro.
It works for must of the channels on 19.2E only problems when a lot of bits are pushed through. German FTA HD channels don't use the high rates so it works for those channels.
Old topic but problem still is there
Just recompiled VDR & plugins with lclbld=1 and onedir=1. After that the icons were gone again.
Somehow the path for the icons is hardcoded during compilation.
If you like me don't set the path for plugins during compilation but set it in the vdrstart script LIVE is still looking for the icons in the default place /video/plugins
That is why it can't find the icons. The README doesn't say this, it only said copy the icons/themes to the plugins directory. It should say copy it the plugin directory defined during compilation.

Or use streaming clients. Raspberry, Motorola vip etc.
Can't find a setting for recording subtitles so I was wrong. Only patched the source for recording teletext subtitles.
DVB or Teletext subtitles?
Recording with DVB can be set in VDR. For teletext you need to patch the source.
Ok. An other problem with those channels is they use silverlight.
So I think only in a browser you can watch them.
Location, outside Holland? Most of the sites have restrictions and are only visible for ip's in Holland.
If there is a (official) hardware way to get ci+ working on the pc, shouldn't there be also a special plugin for VDR which communicate with the card & CI+ module? Like no Fast forward allowed, delete recording after 30 days etc.
New version with lots of changes and updates.
Script to generate a channels.js from VDR

support for reccmds.conf
