Well, if I take a torch and look into the toilett, I can see a bit of a channel...
I suppose this is legal.

Actually, the only legal way is buying cards and sticking them into a certified receiver.
With all the restrictions you get by following that route.

Naja, er hat ja nur gefragt OB es einen legalen Weg über das Internet gibt, die Antwort ist nein, die hat er bekommen... wenn er weiterbohrt mache ich den Thread zu.

Wie ist denn das mit IPTV (oder wie das heißt). Z.B. das Entertainment Paket von T-Online.

Da hat man doch auch PayTV übers Netz und so weit ich weis kann man auch verschlüsselte Kanäle darüber legal bekommen.

Und das geht mit dem VDR?
don-baba Super, kannst du mir einen Link zur Anleitung schicken? Das könnte die Lösung für einen Kumpel mit analoger Sat Leitung sein, an die er nicht ran darf !!!. Da wird er sich zu Weihnachten sicher freuen.

ausserdem wurde auch nicht gefragt ob das mit VDR geht, sondern ob es allgemein eine Möglichkeit gibt verschlüsselte Sender übers Internet zu empfangen. Und das sollte doch irgendwie mit Linux funktionieren oder - legal über WebTV.
Das es anders mal ging ist mir klar.

..absolut leagle und berechtigte Frage.
Gibt auch noch Leute , welche mehr als Cardsharing im Kopp haben.
Das Schliessen von Threads nimmt hier langsam Ueberhand..
..aber das ist nen anderes Thema....

why not, depending on the method of "receicing" its called differently, iptv (with propritary encrytion methods?) or if you using kind of filebased methode its called DRM

at least its possible that a satelite provider controlls what can be decoded bei the customer in realtime over the internet (and will always know what the customer watches) - not used yet afaik and not verry safe because if your internet connection fails you can not use the subscription

ps:
the question about legal also depends on the country of residence,there may be countrys were compute criminality is not (yet) forbidden by law or there are loopholes in the existing laws

Ich kenne keinen Anbieter, der egal in welchen Land für den VDR eine Internet Lösung anbietet.
Und ich hatte die Frage nicht so interprtiert, dass er akademische Grundlagendiskussion führen wollte. Mir ist durchaus bewusst, dass es TECHNISCH realisierbar ist, aber nochmal für einen "VDR Beginner" kenne ich nicht einen Anbieter.

german telecom does it over there own vdsl network (afaik only for use with tere own iptv set top boxes) - thats a provider specific thing

there ist no real internrt tv standard or channel provider
nothing realy usefull only some additiona stuff that can be used with the iptv plugin

some tv companys hae the option to watch parts of the program on there homepage (streaming, drm, ... every compeny have its own way), some try to catch money be trying to convince people to pay for seeing it before its air'ed (for free)
it's a developing market that will take time, ask in 5 years time again

can only say about germen cahnnels and it looks like they dont have privat channels (SAT1, Pro7, RTL, Vox, ...) and no PayTV (would defenitly be illegal)

such services can give a lot of problems because i dont think they have the right to redistibute such services
you should ask them about the situation in your country of residence

beside this, it looks more like a mediaplayer that handles different streaming formats in one list, so if they only linking to the offical pages of providers to catch the data stream ith there client it would be leagle
