Help iMon-Pad/pad2keys/smartmouse/com1

  • Good evening I'm having some problems with my System:

    gen2vdr 2.0 (v1.6.0-1: update 24) *IIRC*
    Gigabyte GA-P53.DS3
    Core2Duo 6420 2x@3.00Ghz
    2Gib DDR2 667Mhz RAM
    nVidia GeForce 7900 GS 256Mb GDDR3 RAM
    Reltek AAC889A On-Board Sound
    TT2300-S v2.6 2Mb RAM (FF)
    KNC1 DVB-C TV-Star (Budget)
    Smartmouse on COM1 (tty/0 /ttyS0)
ATX HTPC Case with Built-In iMON VFD and iMON Pad Remote

Ok here's the problem, using this: as a guide, I can get the iMON remote with the emerged pad2keys the remote works surprisingly good under gen2vdr.

The bummer is that this "Patch" is doing something to my COM Port. As it appears that the lirc client is parking itself on the ONLY!! COM Port, and is blocking access to the Smartmouse.

    Camd3 log: Slot /dev/tts/0: Warnung: IO-Fehler!

So it seems that I can only use either my remote or my Cardreader?
is there anyone that can help me figure this out so that I can use both...

  • Ok it [there] was a confilct on the tty / ttyS0 Comport thingy, sorry to say that such codes are over my head but, whatever the Linux crowd call this thing it's still COM1 for me.

It seems that I had to change the "tty / ttyS0" location in /etc/init.d/lircd from ttyS0 to ttyS1 and that took care of it!

No more problems with my Smartmouse on COM1!

The downer is that I get a port found / or busy when I start up lircd.
barring that it still works and very well with the pad2keys patch set to 1.
So I'm not going to worry about it...

I'm just happy that I can finally ditch that crappy TechnoTrend Remote for my iMON Pad!!!
