Skystar HD2 / Cinergy S2 HD / Azurwave AP-400 / Twinhan 1041

    Code
    root@xxx:/usr/src/scan# ./scan dvb-s/Astra-19.2E
    scanning dvb-s/Astra-19.2E
    using '/dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0' and '/dev/dvb/adapter0/demux0'

    ioctl DVBFE_GET_INFO failed: Invalid argument
    ERROR: initial tuning failed
    dumping lists (0 services) Done.

    Code
    cd /usr/local/src
    hg clone http://jusst.de/hg/mantis
    cd mantis
    make && make install

    I'm guessing neither...
If there is a way to get the SS HD2 (e.g. Twinhan vp1041 / Azureware AD-SP 400),- workng under Linux (i.e. MythTV or VDR), I havn't fount it yet...

No strike that, the stock Sortware under Windows works 100%, and theres your problem, I'M tryin to run a**holes and elbows away from that. ~If only MCE-2005/Vista-MCE had any actuall support for DVB-x~

I gather that ~older~ SS HD (iirc, Technotrend S-3200), works fine with the Multiproto Drivers though. Alas I can not comment on it as I only have the SS HD2.
In anycase I susspect that it's going to be a long time before these "Cards" become 100%, as Linux does NOT officialyy support the DVB-S2 standard... yet...

Anyone like to take a stab at when this hurdle will be jumped?

That said I'd just be happy to use the Card under Linux for nomal DVB-S. Then again I have the Nexus-S for that...

    DVBFE_GET_INFO failed: Opereration not suppordet

    woran könnte das liegen.

  • So far as I know (under U(myth)buntu), 7.10/8.04:

    Code
    cd /usr/src/
    hg clone http://just.de/hg/mantis/
    cd mantis
    make && make install
    modprobe mantis †
    init 6

† You'll like get some Error Message just reboot the System and it WILL WORK!

    Next:

    Under the line

    Code
    CPPFLAGS -I/usr/include = + /-DDATADIR = \ "$ (prefix) / share \"

    add

    Code
    CPPFLAGS + = -I/path/to/mmantis/linux/include

    Then:

    Code
    wget http://linuxtv.org/pipermail/linux-dvb/attachments/20080406/a365d65c/attachment.txt
    patch -p1 < attachment.txt
    make clean
    make

    † dvb-apps = DVB-API 3.3
†† Or fell free to rename it if you like

    Now you can use:

    Code
    ./scan -a N -s N /usr/src/dvb-apps/util/dvb-s/<SATNAME-NNE/W> > ~/.szap/channels.conf

(i.e. ./scan -a 1 -s 0 /usr/src/dvb-apps/util/dvb-s/Astra-19.2), for use on Adapter 1 DiSEqC position 1 (i.e. A. 1 being B), given the number of "Adapters" your System might have you'll likely have to change this. If you don't use a Monoblock or a DiSEqC Switch you can forgo the -s N swithch aswell.

Now that you have a channels.conf File @ ~/.szap/channels.conf we can try to zap some of 'em.

and you should get some light, at least I've had "light" this way, sadly I haven't been able to get Mantis / Multiproto to work under MythTV or VDR for that matter
