Hi.I need help for make full backup easyvdr 5.0 alpha Iso and burn dvd .
What do you want to do?
To make a backup of your installation just use Clonezilla to e. g. a USB stick.
From my manual translated for you, hope it is understandable
(Refers to the German keyboard layout)
Backup with Clonezilla
1 USB stick on which Clonezilla is present. A PC (EasyVDR) in which an SSD or Nvme as system disk and a hard disk as Video0 disk are available. The system disk (SSD/NVMe) is backed up. The backup is stored on an external USB hard drive (80GB (74.5G WD800JD)). It is best to have formatted the external hard drive with ext4 format beforehand. Do not switch on until the prompt comes. Most of the time you have to confirm with OK after each selection
Start Clonezilla from the USB stick via the BIOS Select "others Modes of Clonezilla Live" Select "Clonezilla live VGA 1024x768" Now it takes some time until the language selection comes There then "de_DE. UTF-8 German | Select German" Select Change Keyboard Layout during keyboard configuration "Generic PC Keyboard with 105 Keys (Intl)" "Other" --> "German" --> "German" Alt Right (AltGr) → Windows Left Key "Start Clonezilla Start Clonezilla" "device-image works with images of disks or partitions" "local_dev Use local device (e.g.: hard disk, USB stick)
After that, turn on the external hard drive. Now all hard disks / connected drives are detected, or after Enter is pressed. It now periodically checks for new powered on drives. When the external drive appears, Ctrl+C can be pressed. Now comes the selection for the image repository (the drive where the backup is stored, in our case 74.5G WD800JD. Then the "root directory" (top directory) should be selected, normally just continue with "Done". Then "Enter". Next selection "Beginner beginners: Accept default options" What should be backed up now? The entire drive or just individual partitions? I'll start with "savedisk Lokale_Platte_als_Image_sichern".
Now a distinctive name should be assigned so that you can easily find the image again when storing several backups in one directory / hard disk. The question/name is confusing, but definitely the name should be given (e.g.:) Which saved image to use for this "EasyVDR_5_Streaming-Server_SSD1220GB_savedisk_18-12-2020"
Now you have to select the hard disk / SSD to be backed up (be careful if more than one SSD / hard disk is installed – select the right one!) - Example: Select the local original disk "[*] sda 120GB_SanDisk_SSD_PLUS-SanDisk_SSD_PLUS_120GB_2025B6803351" Then select the compression for the backup: "-zip use parallel gzip compression, for multicore/CPU" Then skip inspection/repair "-sfsck Skip checking/repairing file system" Validate the created image "Yes, check the created image" Do not encrypt the image "-senc Do not encrypt the image" What should be done after the review? "-p choose Select reboot/shutdown/etc when everything is finished" Enter, then you really want to continue? "y" followed by Enter The image is created, first the boot partition, then the data partition. Both images are then checked.
Finally, "Enter". You could now shut down the computer with "poweroff". But my choice is "rerun2 Nochmal_von_vorn_(das_Imageverzeichnis_bleibt_eingehängt" "Start Clonezilla Start Clonezilla" "device-image works with images of disks or partitions" "skip Use existing /home/partimag" Continue with "Enter" "Beginner Beginner: Adopt Standard Options" Now I choose "saveparts Lokale_Partitionen_als_Image_sichern". Then again assign a striking name: "EasyVDR_5_Streaming-Server_SSD1220GB_saveparts_18-12-2020" Now select the two partitions of the SSD (Boot (512M_vfat) + Data (ext4)) and confirm. Then come again the already known queries: "-zip use parallel gzip compression, for multicore/CPU" Then skip inspection/repair "-sfsck Skip checking/repairing file system"
Validate the created image "Yes, check the created image" Do not encrypt the image "-senc Do not encrypt the image" What should be done after the review? "-p choose reboot/shutdown/etc when everything is finished" Enter, then you really want to continue? "y" followed by Enter The image is created, first the boot partition, then the data partition. Both images are then checked. Then continue with "Enter" and then on "power off off". The computer will then shut down in 7 seconds.
Playing back is similar. However, an SSD / hard drive of the same size should be used. A smaller one doesn't work. You should restore if the complete SSD is defective and a new one is used with "savedisk". If only the data partition has a problem, you can use "saveparts" to restore this one partition. The image repository must be selected again. And instead of "savedisk" "restoredisk Image_auf_lokale_Platte_wiederherstellen" should be chosen. If a new hard disk is larger in terms of memory, the "Beginner beginners: Adopt default options" should not select this, but "Expert experts: Configure options individually". At some point, "Clonezilla settings for experts" will confirm this with "Enter". Then "-k1 Create proportional partition table" should be selected to match the size of the data partiton.
From the original English page:
If the target disk size is larger than the size of source disk of image, you can try to use option "-k1" which will create the partition table proportionally in the target disk and turn on option "-r" to resize the file file system in the partition automatically. This is useful to make use all of the target disk size. If the destination disk is smaller than the source disk, if using beginner mode, you will see an error message like this (attempting to restore an image saved from 17.1 GB to a smaller disk (8.5 GB) Backup time: depending on the system, hard disk / SSD from 5 minutes Recovery time: depending on system, hard disk / SSD from 5 minutes Single backup saveparts - better if there are problems with a partiton Total backup savedisk - better if an equally sized hard disk / SSD is taken when replacing
I wont make full backup system and make bootable dvd-rw for restore system.
Maybe you can try Refracta?
I have tried it, but it didnt work for me.
For your backup you need the program Clonezilla.
You can get the ISO from here:
Use it to create a USB stick or CD
And then boot the VDR with this USB stick or CD.
With the Clonezilla program you can make a backup of your system partition or of the entire hard drive.
With the Clonezilla program, the backup made is also played back (restore). However, if you make the backup, make sure that the external USB hard drive is big enough to take the backup. It must therefore be larger than your built-in HDD.
I also noticed that you are using a Zotac GS 8400 in your signature. This graphics card is unsuitable for EasyVDR 5. It is better to use an Nvidia GT 710 --> 730 PCI-e graphics card here.
ich hab ihn so verstanden, das er eine Iso will und kein Clonezilla-Backup.
Obwohl es genauso gut ist. Deswegen hatte ich ihm ja meine Anleitung übersetzt.
Kann er ja brennen.
Yes I am use gs8400 .Its work with easyvdr 5.0 but not perfect.
Now I think abaut build new htpc with vdr for 4k .But I dont know what case witch screen is good and what perfect put inside case . Dou You have solusion ?
