"noepg" plugin and vdr-2.4.1

  • Hello,

    I have an issue with noepg under vdr-2.4.1 (modifying channel yes/no is not stored).

    Do you know where I could find the last version for vdr-2.4.1, or a patch ?

    Thanks a lot.

    Karim

    "Prod" : Debian 7 vdr-2.0.6, TBS6280, 6922, 6928
    "Test" : Mint 19.3, vdr-2.4.1, Hauppauge WinTV Quad, S2-3200+CI

  • Does the file have the right permissions to be modified by the vdr?

    I've juste modified settings.conf's rights to : "read/write" for all users.

    And I restarted VDR but it doesn't fix.

    Did I missed something ?

  • Currently I don't use a vdr, I don't even have a development environment at hand. It's strange, that the plugin stops working...

    noepg-0.04 and vdr-2.0.6 => working

    noepg-0.05 and vdr-2.4.1 => not working

    I think a patch is missing...

  • With noepg-0.05 (*) and vdr-2.4.1 ?

    (*)

    History doesn't mentionne version, I suppose it's 0.05.

    (On github, last update is 2016 january 4th : fix vdr-2.3.1 compatibility)

  • I found this : https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/vdr-noepg/

    But I don't know how I can use it. I hope it helps...

  • If you know a working commit, you can bisect the plugin and identify the commit, which breaks it.

    Maybe we can see, where the bug is.

  • Hello

    I tested it a bit further:

    >> Open OSD in vdr to make changes to noepg:

    Code
    Feb 20 13:34:24 tuinhuisje vdr: [17830]
    loading /etc/vdr/plugins/noepg/settings.conf
    Feb 20 13:34:24 tuinhuisje vdr: [17830]
    OSD size changed to 1920x1080 @ 1

    >> After performing noepg changes in vdr osd:

    Code
    Feb 20 13:34:24 tuinhuisje vdr: [17830]
    saved setup to /etc/vdr/setup.conf

    Changes are saved in:

    Code
    ls -l /etc/vdr/plugins/noepg/settings.conf
    -rw-r--r-- 1 carel carel 46 feb 20 13:34
    /etc/vdr/plugins/noepg/settings.conf

    Stopped vdr

    No changes in /etc/vdr/setup.conf

    Start vdr

    Changes done in noepg setup in vdr OSD are still there and proven to be saved, nevertheless not in "/etc/vdr/setup" but in "/etc/vdr/plugins/noepg/setup.conf"

    The log line "saved setup to /etc/vdr/setup.conf" is misleading here

  • The message with setup.conf is not from the plugin but vdr itself.

    The plugin doesn't print any message after saving its settings.conf.

  • Ok, the plugin's OSD is derived from cMenuSetupPage, which is responsible for loading/storing vdr's setup.conf. That's where the message comes from.
