VDR mit 2 TV-Karten

  • Hello,

First of all, i'm sorry i don't speak german.

Is it possible to use 2 TV-cards with VDR?

    I have the following setup:

1- Technisat Skystar Express HD PCIe connected to Hotbird 13.0E

2- Technisat Skystar USB HD connected to Nilesat 7.0W

In VDR - Setup - LNB there are

    Use Diseqc : no

    SLOF (MHz) : 11700

Low LNB Frequency (MHz) : 9750

High LNB Frequency (MHz) : 10600

    Device 1 connected to sat cable : own / 1 / 2

    Device 2 connected to sat cable : own / 1 / 2

    Use dish positioner : no

    Enable power saving : no

    Best regards.

  • Hi,

first you need to know via the Femon-Plugin (signal strength in OSD) if both tuners work, when both are on the same satellite.

  • Hi,

    @mighty-p, thank you for replying.

    I don't use diseqc.

What i have is 2 dishes

    - Dish (1) LNB aimed @ Hotbird 13.0E .... connected to Technisat Skystar Express HD PCIe

    - Dish (2) LNB aimed @ Nilesat 7.0W .... connected to Technisat Skystar USB HD

The problem is the 1st TV-card is working, i get no signal lock if i switch to the 2nd TV-card.

That setup can be done using OpenPLi Enigma2 as you can see in the attachment.

Regarding VDR i can't select which satellite should be used by which TV-card.

I attached VDR LNB setup as well

    Device 1 connected to sat cable : own / 1 / 2

    Device 2 connected to sat cable : own / 1 / 2

    Should i use own, 1 or 2?

    Best regards

  • I've understood that you don't use DiSEqC in your system, but (as you also say) somehow you need to tell the VDR that Hotbird is connected to your TV card #1 and Nilesat to TV card #2. Otherwise you cannot be sure that it uses the right card, which may be the reason why it seems the 2nd card is not working. My interpretation of the VDR-Wiki page is that your scenario is covered via the diseqc.conf file even though you don't use DiSEqC for real. You can give it a try.

The other idea I would have, is to use the CAID field in the channels.conf to bind every channel to the right device.

  • Hi,

Why you dont use diseqc. Give it a try (vdr settings in the OSD).

Is the usb tiner working, when you only attach it? If thos is not working, this is the first thing to do.

    @SurfaceCleanerZ

    Thanks a lot guys,

I used diseqc, now problem is solved :)

The right disecq.conf should be as follows:

It's a different scenario because i decided to use 1st tuner for Nilesat and 2nd tuner for Hotbird.

    1:

    S7W 11700 V 9750 t v W50 [E0 00 00] W50 [E0 00 03] W150 [E0 10 38 F4] W50 t
