No sound on the HDMI output Yavdr 0.6.1

  • Hello everyone

I upgraded to the latest version of Yavdr and now I have no sound on the HDMI output.

    Thanks

  • Which kind of audio output have you configured in the webfrontend: pulseaudio or alsa?
If you use pulseaudio you can experiment with the plugin pulsecontrol to get it working.

If you choose the right alsa device, it might be easier, but you won't get simultanous output from different applications.

  • Hi Lars

I would like to have audio output with Kodi
In the webdfronted pulseaudio I think is the last option in the menu leaves
    I have several HDMI outputs
I am now away from home then I can look and capture screen

    thanks

  • sudo nano /var/lib/vdr/plugins/pulsecontrol/startup.script

    Quote

    set-card-profile alsa_card.pci-0000_00_1b.0 output:hdmi-stereo-extra1

    I do not have sound

    Thanks

  • Maybe you must add a "set-default-sink ..." line to the startup.script. Try "svdrpsend plug pulsecontrol list-sinks" to get the right name.

You can try different sinks via the OSD of pulsecontrol (under applications/ tools).

    Lars.

  • Hi Lars

Sorry but I do not quite understand. :wand :wand :wand

    As would be the script?

    Quote

    gaby@YaVdr:~$ svdrpsend plug pulsecontrol list-sinks
    220 YaVdr SVDRP VideoDiskRecorder 2.2.0; Wed Oct 19 11:47:34 2016; UTF-8
    900- sink 1: alsa_output.pci-0000_00_1b.0.analog-stereo
    900 *sink 0: alsa_output.pci-0000_01_00.1.hdmi-stereo-extra1
    221 YaVdr closing connection
    gaby@YaVdr:~$

    Thanks

  • Sorry
    This is correct in script

    sudo nano /var/lib/vdr/plugins/pulsecontrol/startup.script

    set-card-profile alsa_card.pci-0000_00_1b.0 output:alsa_output.pci-0000_01_00.1.hdmi-stereo-extra1

    Thanks

  • Ok, the right sink seems to be the default sink, but your script is wrong.

    Code
    set-card-profile alsa_card.pci-0000_01_00.1 output:hdmi-stereo-extra1

You took the card identifier of the onboard soundcard.

    Hi Lars
    This would be correct?

    Thanks

  • If you get sound, then yes. :)

If not, you can try the several profiles and sinks if you select "applications / tools / pulsecontrol" in vdr's OSD.

    Lars.

  • Solved

I have sound but every time I start to go through applications / tools / pulsecontrol
They could do this by starting Yavdr
    Thank you

  • Hi Lars
From the menu select the last option, which is to run the script, then Ok and have sound,. Problem is to turn off, I have to always go back to Menu

    Thanks

  • Why do you want to turn off the sound? If you switch from vdr to kodi, the vdr-frontend is stopped so kodi should be the only application which generates sound.

I think I don't understand exactly, what you want to do. :)

    Lars.

    I mean the computer shutdown
When starts again, you have to reactivate the script
I can activate the script when it starts Vdr??

    Thanks

  • pulsecontrol executes the startup.script, if it's in its configuration directory (/var/lib/vdr/plugins/pulsecontrol). It should be visible in syslog.

    Lars.

  • These are the orders

    "gaby@YaVdr:~$ sudo nano /var/lib/vdr/plugins/pulsecontrol/startup.script"
    "set-card-profile alsa_card.pci-0000_01_00.1 output:hdmi-stereo-extra3"
    "gaby@YaVdr:~$ sudo chmod +x /var/lib/vdr/plugins/pulsecontrol/startup.script"
    "gaby@YaVdr:~$ sudo chown -R root:root /var/lib/vdr/plugins/pulsecontrol/startup.script"
    "gaby@YaVdr:/var/lib/vdr/plugins/pulsecontrol$ ls
    startup.script
    gaby@YaVdr:/var/lib/vdr/plugins/pulsecontrol$"
