Asus Pundit, Linvdr 0.5, NVRAM funzt nicht

  • Hallo allerseits,


    ich wollte auf meinem Asus Pundit das NVRAM nachinstallieren, wie das von "rell" unter dem Link: http://www.vdrportal.de/board/thread.php?threadid=12692&sid= bzw. http://www.imkreisrum.de/linvdr/ schön ausführlich beschrieben wird. Nur klappt das einfach bei mir nicht. Sobald ich nach Punkt 7 den Reboot ausführe, hängt sich Linvdr nach dem Neustart in einer Endlosschleife auf, d. h. es kommt immer wieder diese lange Satz mit F10 und so weiter. Bin ich denn der einzige Pundit Linvdr-User dem das passiert? :rolleyes:


    Wie geh ich jetzt am besten an den Fehler ran, bin leider noch etwas Linux unerfahren? ?( Wär toll wenn mir jemand ein paar Tips geben könnte....

    ich will nicht behaupten, dass ich dir sicher helfen kann, aber ein bisschen mehr info brauchen wir schon.


    machste mal ein logread und postest es dann. vielleicht fällt´s uns dann leichter dir zu helfen.


    einfach mit putty von einem anderen rechner auf den vdr zugreifen und logread in die kommandozeile klopfen und schon bekommst du ein listing und möglicherweise auch ein paar errors.


    danach markieren, kopieren und in dein posting.

    ok, ich werd mir das putty mal saugen und versuchen nach deiner Anleitung ein Logread zu erstellen.
    Werd es dann heut nachmittag posten, weil ich jetzt leider erst mal arbeiten gehen darf... :(

    Also wie ich das sehe startet das NVRAM korrekt, nur der VDR läuft jetzt nicht mehr an...., ich denk das liegt irgendwie an dieser vdrshutdown. Mir ist auch aufgefallen, das das Verzeichnis von der svdrpsend.pl überhaupt nicht stimmt und muß man eigentlich bei dem Checkscript einen Pfad angeben?? Wer hat einen Pundit und kann mal seine vdrshutdown zwecks Vergleich posten? Ich versteh beim besten Willen nicht, warum der VDR plötzlich nicht mehr starten will..... :rolleyes:

    mir ist gerade noch eingefallen das Linvdr ja eigentlich zuerst mal die runvdr aufruft, also könnte der Fehler ja logischerweise auch da drin stecken.
    Die poweroff.pl hab ich in vdrshutdown umbenannt, sonst war ja nix mehr zu ändern, oder?
    Leider blick ich nicht so ganz durch was Linvdr da alles abarbeitet, könnte da jemand mal vergleichen, ob die so stimmt:

    Mann, bin ich "froh" das du mir das jetzt schreibst, ich dachte wirklich schon das ich mich irgendwie zu doof anstell..... :prost2


    Aber es ist genau wie du sagt, er startet den Treiber immer wieder in einer Endlosschleife. Wenn ich den Fernseher anschalt erscheint immer wieder der Convergence Schriftzug und dann wirds finster anstatt das der VDR startet. Echt verrückt, eigentlich ist doch nur ein kleiner Eintrag in der runvdr geändert worden....*grübelgrübel*


    Ich hab sogar mal das Linvdr 0.4 damit probiert, war aber leider das selbe Ergebnis.... :rolleyes:


    Ich versteh nicht warum das bei den anderen klappt? Wer hat denn nun eigentlich ein funktionsfähiges NVRAM auf seinem Pundit?

  • Hi,leider kann ich im moment wenig helfen, da ich mein pundit gerade nicht hier habe.


    ich kann nur sagen, daß ich es auch schon probiert habe und alles funktionierte. bin zwar nicht nach rells anleitung gegangen, weil sie damals noch nicht existierte, aber ich hab sie mir angeschaut und sie sieht erstmal sauber aus.
    vielleicht probiert ihr erstmal eine minimalkonfiguration ohne allen "schnickschnack". laßt also einfach die linvdr standart installation durchlaufen, und installiert keine zusätzlichen plugins wie vdrrip, imposd, mc...


    also wirklich nur linvdr, kernel downgrade und nvram.
    dann wisst ihr schonmal daß es generell funktioniert, oder auch nicht.

    Also bei mir funktionierts wunderbar, und da wir beinahe die gleiche Hardware haben, werden wir das schon hinbekommen.


    Meine "Anleitung" scheint doch nicht vollständig zu sein. Mal sehen was fehlt.


    Ich hatte mir vor der ganzen NVRAM -Sache die 128 bittige nvram.o von http://www.vdr-portal.de/board/attachment.php?attachmentid=1652&sid= heruntergeladen und installiert. Das liegt jetzt bei mir in /lib/modules/2.4.21/nvram/nvram.o .


    Das aus dem nvram_for_linvdr-Paket liegt in /lib/modules/2.4.21/kernel/drivers/char/nvram.o .


    Ich weiß nicht, welche von beiden geladen wird.


    Zusätzlich hatte ich vorher das Paket von eloy installiert und die nvram-wakeup.conf laut Anleitung verändert.


    Die Dateien liegen /usr/lib/nvram-wakeup. Die /usr/bin/nvram-wakeup stammt von nvram-wakeup-for linvdr.


    Probierts mal.


    Es kann übrigens durchaus sein, dass in meiner Anleitung ein Fehler ist, bzw. dass was fehlt oder mißverständlich ist, weil ich die erst im Nachhinein aus dem Gedächtnis geschrieben habe.

    Die Plugins hatte ich gar nicht alle installiert, bzw. beim 2./3.Versuch überhaupt nicht mehr mitinstalliert, das Ergebnis war aber immer das gleiche. Den "schnickschnack" brauch und will ich eigentlich auch gar nicht, mir langt ein automatischer VDR voll aus.... :]

    Ich bin im Moment dabei das Linvdr 0.5 wieder zu installieren, nachdem es mit dem 0.4 auch nicht geklappt hat. Aber das geht ja relativ fix und nach der Übung mittlerweile... :D


    Eloy`s Packet hatte ich übrigens auch schon mal drauf, allerdings erst nach dem NVRAM-Wakeup. Ich werds jetzt dann mal vorher draufspielen, vielleicht bringts ja doch was.
    Mit lt. Anleitung meinst du wahrscheinlich das die Wakeup.conf von Eloy, das ja glaub ich für ein MSI Board oder so war, mit einer passenden Pundit Wakeup.conf ersetzt werden sollte, gell?


    Dein Tip mit dem 128bit Nvram.o ist mir neu, sehr interessant, ich habs mir mal runtergeladen, danke.


    Meld mich dann später nochmal zwecks Berichterstattung.

  • weiß nicht, ob es hilft, aber das paket von eloy hatte ich auch installiert, aber wenn ich mich recht erinnere erst zum schluß.


    versuch auch nochmal kurz zu rekapitulieren und meine schritte ausm kopf aufzuschreiben:


    1. linvdr 0.5 installieren
    2. alten kernel (von linvdr.org) mit winscp in die root kopiert und mit tar xzf linvdr-kernel-2.4.21.tar.gz entpacken
    3. das selbe nochmal mit der nvram_for_linvdr-0.4.tar.gz
    4. reboot
    5. in der etc/init.d/runvdr die "poweroff.pl" durch "vdrshutdown" ersetzt
    6. nvram-wakeup[1].tar.bz2 von eloy ebenfalls mit winscp in die root kopiert und ebenfalls entpackt (diesmal mit tar -xyvf [dateiname] )
    7. die 3 kopierten dateien mit winscp gelöscht (tut nicht zur sache, aber ich habs halt gemacht) ;)
    8. nvramwakeup.conf mit der "richtigen" ersetzt. (hier bin ich mir aber nicht mehr sicher, hat glaube ich auch ohne funktioniert)
    9. reboot
    10. fernsehen und freuen und aufnehmen und timeshiften und und und...


    tja, glaube, das es eigentlich genau das ist was auch rell beschrieben hat, habs ja eigentlich auch nur von ihm gelernt, aber vielleicht hilft es ja doch. wir pundit und linvdr user müssen zusammenhalten und für eine version 0.6 kämpfen. ;)


    so, und nun viel spaß beim installieren...


    p.s. beim entpacken immer drauf achten, ob fehler kommen.


    und eins fällt mir noch ein. hatte auch schonmal son problem. die ursache lag in einer fehlerhaften conf datei. wenn du also irgendwo was änderst (z.b. in der runvdr oder ...) dann ändere sie direkt auf der linux kiste, nicht die datei in windows ziehen, ändern und wieder zurück, sondern wirklich nur editieren und nicht kopieren bzw ersetzen.

    Könnte sein dass genau in dieser Installationsreihenfolge der Fehler liegt.
    Wenn du Eloys NVRAM als letztes draufmachst, wird die /usr/bin/nvram-wakeup aus dem nvram-for-linvdr0.4 Paket überschrieben, und ob das dann zusammen mit dem 2.4.21er Kernel gut geht? Ich denke Du kannst das von Eloy ganz weglassen, wenn du den 2.4.21-nvram Kernel benutzt.


    An Linvdr rumzuschrauben ist halt doch nicht so einfach und im Sinne der Erfinder, gell mottobug und cooper? :] Aber es macht Spaß :]

    Das sieht ja fast so aus, als würde Deine DVB-Karte nicht geladen werden...
    Ich habe da Einträge wie dvb-ttpci, dvb-core, videodev, grundig...


    Ist nur die Frage, ob ab welchem Installationsschritt die Treiber nicht mehr geladen werden?

    funktioniert der vdr denn ohne nvram?
    auch das aufwachen funktioniert ohne nvram, nur das datum wird halt nicht berücksichtigt.
    bitte mal linvdr ganz nackig testen (ich glaub dazu muß acpi im bios an sein)
    nvram ist ja nur dazu da, auch wenn das jetzt komisch klingt, daß er nicht angeht.

    Ich habs jetzt so gemacht wie beschrieben, also erst mal Linvdr0.5, dann das eloy-Paket, anschließend den alten Kernel, das 128 bittige NVRAM, und das Nvram_for_linvdr0.4. Ich hab auch auf das richtige nvram-wakeup wie du unten beschrieben hast aufgepaßt.


    Und dann hab ich einen Reboot gemacht, so wie strgalt beschrieben hat wärs bei Punkt 4. Komischerweise ging dann Linvdr bei mir und auch ein nvram-wakeup --debug, bzw. lsmod hat mir einen laufenden ("enabled") Nvram angezeigt. :)


    Nachtrag: bei lsmod hatte ich diesmal wesentlich mehr drinstehen, so wie rell gesagt hat, von wegen dvb-core, usw.


    Erst als ich bei der runvdr die poweroff.pl in vdrshutdown umbenannt hab, gingen nach einem Reboot wieder die Lichter aus. Und das obergemeine ist, das auch eine Wiederherstellung auf poweroff.pl nichts mehr daran ändert! ;(

    Braucht man eigentlich unbedingt diese vdrshutdown zum runterfahren oder kann man es auch auf poweroff.pl stehen lassen?
    Hm, am besten ich fang nochmal von vorne an und lass diese Änderung mal weg, mal schauen was Linvdr dann dazu sagt....

    Damit ich nichts falsch verstehe: Du benennst nicht die Datei /usr/bin/poweroff.pl in /usr/bin/vdrshutdown um sondern änderst schon nur die eine Zeile in /etc/init.d/runvdr.

    Beim Einsatz von NVRAM wird die poweroff.pl beim Herunterfahren mit der Fernbedienung übergangen, da diese die ACPI-Geschichte abhandelt, damit NVRAM überhaupt erst benutzt wird, kommt vdrshutdown ins Spiel. Glaube ich.
