Neue Version externremux.sh (vlc/ffmpeg)

    Hallo Leute,


    ich habe etwas am originalen externremux.sh Skript herum geschraubt, da ich immer Probleme mit dem Seitenverhältnis bei mencoder hatte und der mittlerweile ja nicht mehr entwickelt wird mit mplayer2. Zusätzlich ist beim aktuellen Ubuntu LTS auch ein Problem mit dem ffmpeg2theora aufgetreten...
    Deswegen habe ich erstmal ein wenig mit ffmpeg herum experimentiert, was auch Teils funktioniert hat. Letztendlich habe ich aber vlc eingebaut, was sehr gut klappt.


    Wollte hier einfach mal meinen Stand zur Verfügung stellen, und vielleicht bauen ja andere bei Interesse daran weiter.

    ich hab auf meinem 14.04er lts vlc-nox, ffmpeg, libtheora laufen.
    welche pakete sind denn minimal erforderlich?

    VDR 2.2.0, PMS mit PlexVDR, XML-API+VDR Client
    Ubuntu 16.04 64bit
    alles 'headless' auf Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4440 CPU @ 3.10GHz, 8GB RAM, 5 x 3TB im RAID5 (12TB)
    zzgl. diverse SH4 Sat-Boxen mit NeutrinoMP

    Die funktioniert bei mir nach ersten Tests gut unter Gen2VDR 5.1.

    leider bekomme ich es nicht vernünftig zum laufen. der log sagt:

    vlc --> geht nur mit "wlan11" ton ist furchtbar und bild so lala. es dauert ewig bis der stream startet

    Ich habe 6Mbit zur verfügung und wollte etwa 4-5 nutzen dafür. Die encoding Hardware ist sehr performant und kann einiges ab.
    Kannst du mir was empfehlen in deinem Script?

    Die Version, die du eben hochgeladen hast funktioniert ;)
    Ich spiele ein wenig herrum mit den Bitraten jetzt.


    Gibt es Tips wie man zügiger "zappen kann". Es dauert ca 6-8 sekunden bis das encoding überhaupt startet.

    I'm trying to make VLC or ffmpeg with any of the codecs work for live tv streaming. I have a not so powerful pc doing the transcoding, which combination and settings would you recommend?


    VLC with x264, and which settings?


    One more question: what do you install on ubuntu Trusty for all this to work (vlc, ffmpeg, x264, etc), and do you compile these or use ppa?

    sorry for my late answer, im not following the board really well, because I am always busy with work, family and other projects ;(


    the only thing I can say, that I use the videolan ppa for always fresh VLC.

    What type of machine you have? I also have not such a powerful computer, only a old core 2 duo at 2.13GHz.
    But with VLC it was working well (yes it needs some time to start, but it was okay).


    I am not an expert in those codec stuff, I only followed recommendations which I found on google.


    But I think, when your machine has not mush power, you can just try to reduce the quality (see the bottom of the script at "case "$QUALITY" in"


    And if you prefer x264, theo or VP80 as video codec, depends also a little bit with your receiving device (what it can handle at best).

    All others things you have to probe for your self.
