I'm currently testing VDR with VDR-Live the recording functionality seems very basic.
Does yaVDR support recording only new episodes for shows? Does it know if a show is HD or not?
Does yaVDR support recording new episodes only? How advanced is the recording engine?

There is an option for epgsearch to prevent automatic recording of rerun shows by checking their title adn/or description. It depends on the quality and consistency your EPG data if this will allow your VDR to recognise reruns reliably.Does it know if a show is HD or not?
AFAIK it doesn't. If there is a keyword in EPG description you could match it.
