Diseqc Setup/Config

  • Hi,

I need some help and advice on setting up my new Diseqc system

My current setup is at the top of the image (Simple, two tuners plugged into a dual LNB) and everything works fine

    [Blockierte Grafik: http://wakeupbomb.co.uk/xbmc/DiSEqC.png]

I have a 2nd dish with only a Mono LNB and I have bought a 4-1 Diseqc switch.

I understand my diseqc.conf file needs to look something like this

    Code
    S28.2E 11700 V 9750 t v W99 [E0 10 38 F0] W99 t
    S28.2E 99999 V 10600 t v W99 [E0 10 38 F1] W99 T
    S28.2E 11700 H 9750 t V W99 [E0 10 38 F2] W99 t
    S28.2E 99999 H 10600 t V W99 [E0 10 38 F3] W99 T

    S13.0E 11700 V 9750 t v W99 [E0 10 38 F4] W99 t
    S13.0E 99999 V 10600 t v W99 [E0 10 38 F5] W99 T
    S13.0E 11700 H 9750 t V W99 [E0 10 38 F6] W99 t
    S13.0E 99999 H 10600 t V W99 [E0 10 38 F7] W99 T

But because there is only one card connected to the extra dish/LNB is there something I need to do to make sure that VDR doesn't try to tune to the S13.0E channels on the card that is only connected to the S28.2E dish?

Another question, the extra dish I have will be setup so I can manually move it to whatever position I like (it doesn't have a motor), do I need to list all the other satellites I may want to access in my diseqc.conf file but have them looking as if they're all on the same port, as so....

  • The vdr doku say:
    ---
    # A line containing space separated integer numbers, terminated with a ':',
    # defines that any following DiSEqC sequences apply only to the given list
    # of device numbers.
    ---
you need also an udev rule so that the order of the dvb card never change.

But this works not fine with record timers.

I suggest to buy an second diseqc switch an replace the single lnb with an twin lnb. Then both card get both sats.

  • So I bought a dual LNB and two Diseqc 2.0 switches but I'm having issues with my Diseqc.conf setup.

    Is this correct for Diseqc.conf?

    Code
    S28.2E 11700 V 9750 t v W99 [E0 10 38 F0] W99 t
    S28.2E 99999 V 10600 t v W99 [E0 10 38 F1] W99 T
    S28.2E 11700 H 9750 t V W99 [E0 10 38 F2] W99 t
    S28.2E 99999 H 10600 t V W99 [E0 10 38 F3] W99 T

    S13.0E 11700 V 9750 t v W99 [E0 10 38 F4] W99 t
    S13.0E 99999 V 10600 t v W99 [E0 10 38 F5] W99 T
    S13.0E 11700 H 9750 t V W99 [E0 10 38 F6] W99 t
    S13.0E 99999 H 10600 t V W99 [E0 10 38 F7] W99 T

All S28.2E channels work fine, but nothing on S13.0E works.

I know my 2nd dish is aligned correctly because I can pickup FTA S13.0E channels on an STB, just not VDR.

  • Hi.

Try to set 13°E at DiSEqC Options: ~F8,9,A,B
Ther are many Diseqc switches with a little knob to change "Position" (A/B) and "Option" (A/C).

But, ordinary, with a Single or Twin LNB you have to set :

    S28.2E 11700 V 9750 t v W99 [E0 10 38 F0] W99 t
    S28.2E 99999 V 10600 t v W99 [E0 10 38 F0] W99 T
    S28.2E 11700 H 9750 t V W99 [E0 10 38 F0] W99 t
    S28.2E 99999 H 10600 t V W99 [E0 10 38 F0] W99 T

    S13E 11700 V 9750 t v W99 [E0 10 38 F4] W99 t
    S13E 99999 V 10600 t v W99 [E0 10 38 F4] W99 T
    S13E 11700 H 9750 t V W99 [E0 10 38 F4] W99 t
    S13E 99999 H 10600 t V W99 [E0 10 38 F4] W99 T

    have a look at: diseqc.conf

    Hope, this helps..

  • Thanks for the reply.

    I'm struggling still.

The diseqc.conf file states that "S" needs to be as it is in sources.conf, so for 13E it is listed in sources.conf as "S13E" but in channels.conf it is S13.0E.

Should it be S13.0E or S13E? And should it the same in all channels.conf, sources.conf and diseqc.conf?

    I currently have 28.2E on port 1 and 13.0E on port 4. It's a 4x1 Diseqc 2.0 switch

    Should

    S28.2E 11700 V 9750 t v W99 [E0 10 38 F0] W99 t
    S28.2E 99999 V 10600 t v W99 [E0 10 38 F0] W99 T
    S28.2E 11700 H 9750 t V W99 [E0 10 38 F0] W99 t
    S28.2E 99999 H 10600 t V W99 [E0 10 38 F0] W99 T

    S13E 11700 V 9750 t v W99 [E0 10 38 FC] W99 t
    S13E 99999 V 10600 t v W99 [E0 10 38 FC] W99 T
    S13E 11700 H 9750 t V W99 [E0 10 38 FC] W99 t
    S13E 99999 H 10600 t V W99 [E0 10 38 FC] W99 T

    work?

  • Still not managed to get my switches working.

My 2nd dish/LNB is pointing perfectly at 13E and is on port 4 of 4 on the switch. 28.2E is on port 1

When using w_scan I've tried "w_scan -o 7 -fs -s S13E0 -D3c" and it only picks up channels from 28.2E which is odd.
