Hallo ich war grad im XBMC Forum unterwegs und bin auf die Broadcom Karten gestoßen. Nun gibts da zwar den verweiss auf die Karten aber kann man sie auch irgendwie nutzen? Dort waren keine Infos zu Treibern.
Gibt wohl auch schon nen XBMC Branch für den Apple TV..

Hat die Dinger evtl schon wer? Vielleicht im Laptop/Netbook/Nettop ?
Zu dem Preis wären sie doch Top Beschleuniger...

hi,

mal vom mini format abgesehen (da bekomt man sicher einen adapter) ist die entscheidende frage gibts treiber und wie integrieren die sich in linux (nutzbarkeit als h.264 beschleuniger mit vdr)

ok, das ist ein kernel treiber und ein plugin für gstreamer, wenn jetzt noch jemand ein vdr output plugin schreibt ...
wenn ich mir ansehe wie schwierig es mit dem reelbox plugin ist (code, anpassungen, bugs, ...) dann muss jemand aber ganz schön motiviert und auf zack sein wenn er das (ohne doku der schnittstelle und treiber) machen will - vor allem da vdpau immer besser wird

VDPAU ist auch nicht einfacher als die eHD zu installieren, insofern ist es zu Zeit auch nicht besser.
Das kann sich nur ändern wenn eine Distribution VDPAU direkt unterstützt.

ich dachte da eher an die entwicklung, für den chip gibt es im moment nichts was man für vdr nutzen kann und ehe man was fertig hat ist vdpau weiter und die karten sind ähnlich billig - bei besserem zugang zu den karten bei vdpau

davon abgesehen haben diese karten vermutlich eine firmware auf die man keinen einfluß hat was beim entwickeln schnell in eine sackgasse führen kann

das trifft genauso für die eHD zu, wenn es eine umfangreich mit plugins bestückte vdr distribution gäbe die eHD unterstützt wäre es sicher einfacher

z.b. wäre es sicher möglich das rmm recovery image für den normalen vdr zu erschließen aber das hat bisher keiner gemacht

Ich arbeite an einem xine video decoder plugin http://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/archvdr…-1.2-chrystalhd . Im moment gibts noch nichts brauchbares.

Hab heute einen kleinen step nach vorne gemacht. H.264 Videos in 720p funktionieren nun

Kein scherz. Leider gehen im moment nur 720p H264 Videos und kein Interlaced. Wird in der nächsten Zeit sicher updates geben

Im XBMC Forum gibt es Infos wo man den geleakten Treiber bekommt

Genau durchlesen, da für neuere Kernel ein zusätzlicher Patch Benötigt wird.
