falscher Zeichensatz in putty per ssh?

    Hallo allerseits.


    ich habe eine Frage zum korrekten Zeichensatz in Debian. Ich logge mich per SSH mit PuTTY ein.
    Der MidnightCommanders beim Zeichensatz UTF-8 korrekt dargestellt. Aptitude dagegen wird nur beim Zeichensatz ISO-8859-1:1998 (Latin-1, West Europe) richtig angezeigt.


    Wie kriege ich es hin, dass beide Programme bei nur einem Zeichensatz korrekt dargestellt werden?
