So nun kann das fröhliche Testen beginnen.

Die aktuelle Version unterstützt nun VDPAU komplett und direkt.

Was mit aufgefallen ist, daß 1080i mit temporal spatial mit meiner GT 520 nicht will, d.h daß ich da "Framedrops" bekomme.

Ja den habe ich gerade selber gemerkt, warum haben den alle libav?
(Ja, ich weiss es)

Im GIT gibts schon neue Version, habe inzwischen noch ein paar Bugs beim Umschalten gefunden, wenn es dann keine mehr sind gibts auch noch ein Archive.
Wobei libav scheinbar noch mehr Überarbeitung braucht.

Also noch mal die Warnung bitte mit ffmpeg 0.7.0 - 0.9 testen, die müssten alle laufen, bei ffmpeg 0.6.2 bin ich mir nicht sicher.

Edit: so GIT läuft nun auch mit libav 0.7.2 rund.

Was hat das mit Weihnachten zu tun

Werde mal nicht sentimental hier. Die Sonne meint ja auch sie muesste Strandfeeling verbreiten (zumindest gen Norden).

Btw.
Hier stottert der Ton recht exzessiv (Hoert sich an wie MAschinengewehr). Dabei wird auch der Systemlog ohne Ende zugemuellt , sodass ich erstmal die Debugausgabe deaktivieren musste.
Passiert die Pufferung dynamisch oder wo kann man da dran schrauben. ?

Ich hoffe du hast die GIT Version und nicht die 0.1.1.tgz? (Da hatte ich einen Ähnlichen Effekt)
Wenn VA-API vorher funktioniert hat, dann ist es ein Bug im VDPAU und liegt nicht am Tonteil.

Ich puffere im Moment, was das Kernel so hergibt und einen eigenen Puffer von min. 333ms.

Neue Version als tgz gibts gleich.
Bekannte Fehler:
Dr.Dish H264 nur schwarzes Bild.
Sixx verhält sich etwas komisch. (Verliere und Verdopple Bilder abwechselnd)
Aufnahmen lassen sich nicht gescheit abspielen.
Und hin und wieder stützt er beim Umschalten ab, dann aber immer im ffmpeg audio Parser.

Es gibt ja schon lange mit neueren nvidia Treibern das Problem, dass VdpDecoderRender Aufrufe manchmal zu viel Laufzeit für ein Frame benötigen. Diese Hänger bei h264 lassen sich aber nicht gezielt reproduzieren, da sie nur zufällig unregelmäßig auftreten. Weil nvidia sie nicht reproduzieren konnte, gibt es bis jetzt keine Fehlerbehebung. Soweit ich weiß, wurde dies bisher hauptsächlich mit xine untersucht.
Es wäre interessant, dies auch mit softhddevice zu untersuchen (also unabhängig von xine). Dafür hänge ich einen Patch an, der entsprechende Nachrichten in syslog schreibt. Wenn man statt 35000 mal 0 nimmt, sieht man auch schön, wie sich der Decoder einpendelt.
Bitte postet eure syslog Einträge um einen Hänger herum. Vielleicht gibt es neue Erkenntnisse. Ein Hänger macht sich als kurzes Standbild im Bilderfluss bemerkbar, im syslog stehen bei decoder rendering sehr hohe Werte von über mehreren Hundert ms. Das ist vielleicht eine Chance mit dem Problem endlich mal weiter zu kommen.

Das Bild zappelt wie wild etwa 5 Sekunden lang, dann läuft alles rund. Ist aber bisher auch nur zweimal passiert. Kann das leider nicht reproduzieren. Wie kann man Dein Plugin dazu bringen das es auf Lautstärkeänderung reagiert? Ist das noch ein Todo? So wie das Abspielen von Aufnahmen?

Das kann und sollte nur beim Starten vorkommen, da ich bei VDPAU noch kein schwarzes Bild ausgebe.

Ton sollte mit der bisheriger Version bereits gehen, aber nur wenn die Karte einen "PCM" Kanal hat.

In der nächste Version kann man es erstmal über da Environment setzen.
