Installed yaVDR 0.3.0 - can't get demo channels to work

  • Hello,
I am just another newbie with yaVDR. I just installed (ok, it was a few hours ago) yaVDR 0.3.0 on a machine[1], and have spent some hours trying to figure out how to configure and use it.
First of all, this machine doesn't have a nVidia gfx card, just an (integrated) ATI gfx chip, so I had to install xserver-xorg-video-ati manually, which worked well. I now see the "no signal" screen after yaVDR has started.

However, yaVDR only says "Channel not available!" on all three demo channels (3Sat, THE_VOICE, NASA). Browsing using the "Web" (Firefox) works nicely, so the machine has a working internet connection.

I have updated yaVDR with "sudo apt-get update" and "sudo apt-get dist-upgrade" followed by a reboot, but the problem is still there. I have documented my efforts on this page[2].

Is there something else that I need to do? Or something else I need to install?
