mysql startet nicht mehr [gelöst]

Hallo zusammen,

ich hatte testweise meine IP Adressen auf dem Server geändert, anschliessend wieder auf die Ursprungsadresse zurückgestellt.
Seitdem läuft mysql nicht mehr.

VDR:/var/run/mysqld# /etc/init.d/mysql start
Starting MySQL database server: mysqld...failed.
Please take a look at the syslog.
/usr/bin/mysqladmin: connect to server at 'localhost' failed
error: 'Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2)'
Check that mysqld is running and that the socket: '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' exists!

die Datei mysqld.sock existiert tatsächlich nicht.
Warum kann ers ich nicht mit localhost verbinden?

ct5.0, mit DVB-T in HH

komisch, nachdem ich im /tmp die Rechte auf 777 geändert hatte, startete mysql.

Jetzt kommt bei vdr-xxv eine Meldung:

so, hab mal dpkg --purge vdr-xxv uznd neu installiert, die /etc/default/vdr-xxv enabled und voila, es funzt
