VDR and XINE PROBLEM

    Hi All,


    this is probably trivial but I have spend hours reinstaling and palying with it and still do not get it to work....


    the probelmis that after I install vdr and xine, I can not connect with xine to vdr


    I have OpenSuse 11.1


    i used yast to install VDR and Xien


    I made sure xine installed is from the packman repository (the one with all codecs)


    I changed setting in /etc/sysconfig/vdr as instructed by opensuse


    i start vdr and it all works fine


    i start the xine, and when i click on the VDR the window where i started VDR by runvdr showing Conecting to client


    after that nothing happens and I have to use kill to kill the xine


    any HELP please,

    You have to use the xineliboutput-plugin for VDR to "enable" the "streaming" to a external frontend.
    In the plugin conf set local=none, primary, remote=37890


    For the frontend you can use the xine player, but for the xine player you need also an plugin. Dont know the name, could be xine-vdr or so...
    (with it you get a button "xvdr" like dvd etc.)


    An alternative frontend is vdr-sxfe, which you get with an other package, which i would recommend.
    start it in an x-term without any options, when it runs you can add options to the command line and create a desktop-shortcut when it runs fine.
    Ask google for details...

    thanks for the tip, but this still does not solve my problem...


    I have all aplugins, i installed them with yast


    i start the vdr with runvdr


    and when I start xine and click on VDR this is what I get and nothing more:

    Here is the latest update...


    I reinstalled the system with OPENSuse 11.1


    I installed latest kernle and xine from packman including codec and bunch of other stuff


    I went to the runlevel and made sure that vdr runs at startup


    now the xine does not freze but i did not get much further:


    after I run the vdr in konsole using runvdr i get following:
