[epgsearch] RFE: Add new Action: "Set inactive timer"

  • Hi,

I am using searchtimers looking generally for specific actors,
directors, etc. These searchtimers often create multiple timers, for
example because of the various regional channels, differing only
slightly in their schedule, because of the SD/HD channels,...

For various reasons, I can't simply only search one of the various
incarnation of a channel, as there are things, that are better Recorded
in SD and other in HD. Thus, I have many timers that I have to switch to
the inactive state in order to not record multiple times the same show
    and to avoid timer conflicts.

In my use case, it would require quite less manual intervention, if I
could create searchtimers that sets timers in an inactive state; this
way, I only have to activate the timer for the channel of interest
instead of deactivating it for the various incarnations of that channel.

A "Set inactive timer" action for the searchtimers might not only be useful to me:
    - Here , there is somebody that is also deactivating a lot of timers.
    - Another person here is asking for the vdr to give him a list of suggestions. Could this not be indirectly achieved by searchtimers creating timers in an inactive state?

In the corresponding RFE thread , it seems that a patch implementing this feature would be accepted.
Maybe that somebody with a similar interest and able to create the corresponding patch might come along. :D

In any case, thanks for reading this.

    Cheers

  • I might have posted this thread into the wrong forum. I think that it is better suited in the Plugins forum under the developer section.

Could anybody of the administration team please move this thread into the Plugins forum under the developer section?

    Thanks in advance.
