Ich weiß ja nicht, ob das Thema für dich noch aktuell ist, aber:
Wenn deine menu.lst oben noch gültig ist, wird der Eintrag "vga=" bereits der Killer sein. Der muß komplett raus, sonst hat radeonfb keine Chance, den Framebuffer für sich zu belegen ("cannot request region 0"). Beim Start wird dann allerdings kein Framebuffer aktiviert (goodbye Tux ;) ), dafür trägst du alles nötige z. B. in der rcStart ein. Dann sollte das ganze auch mit der Radeon funktionieren.

Ich poste mal meine Einstellungen für die Matrox, mußt du halt entsprechend anpassen. Bei mir steht das ganze ganz oben in der /etc/init.d/rcStart, damit ist der Framebuffer aktiv, bevor vidix drauf zugreifen möchte. Funzt bestens.

Leider gibt da meine "Kram-Kiste" nix mehr her - die Karte ist aber neu - hab ich extra für's Softdevice Thema besorgt - werde ggf. mal in nem anderen Rechner testen oder umtauschen.

Schade, hätte dir am WE eine Mitbringen können! Schlechtes Timing fürchte ich! Habe halt bisher nur Erfahrungen mit "alten" Karten, also z.B. SB 128 PCI oder einer SB Live! Player! Grade bei Linvdr gilt, je neuer die HW, desdo mehr Probleme gibt es.... ?(

Tja - echt dumm das wir uns verpasst haben. Habe gerade mal die Karte getauscht - und siehe da - ich hatte wohl mal wieder eine Montags Karte erwischt. Neue Karte drin - schwupps ist sound über LineOut da - leider allerdings noch nicht über SPDIF was die nächste Hürde wird.

Jo, wirklich schade! Aber ich will nächste Zeit mal wieder öfter in der Gegend sein!

SPDIF kannst du unter den Softdevice-Einstellungen einstellen! Dann mußt du aber bei den Startparametern auf spdif einstellen, aber das habe ich noch nicht probiert! Google ist dein Freund! ;)

@Toxic - wäre super wenn man sich mal wieder sehen würde !!

So - nach ein paar Basteleien im alsamixer und bei den Startparametern hab ich nun auch AC3 über SPDIF - nur PCM macht mir noch Sorgen.

Aplay -l sagt folgendes:

ein aplay -D hw:0,2 test.wav spuckt auch das Stereo File auch brav über SPDIF aus, aber aus dem Softdevice kommt noch immer nix bei Stereo Sendungen.

Irgendwie ist also der Wurm drin. Starte ich übrigens mit dem Parameter:...alsa:pcm=plug:surround51 wie von Toxic Tonic beschrieben startet der VDR nicht mit der Meldung "invalid argument".

Hmm - langsam versteh ich's nicht mehr. Habe jetzt zweimal reproduzierbar PCM Sound über SPDIF rausbekommen. Das aber ganz kurios:

Habe zum Test das primäre DVB Interface auf 1 umgestellt (also die Full Featured Karte: Nexus-S). Nachdem ich dann wieder auf 3 (da zwei DVB-S Karten im System) für Softdevice umgestellt hab kam plötzlich auf allen Kanälen Ton über's Softdevice und die CMI8738, also incl. PCM Sound. Nachdem reboot war dann aber alles wieder beim alten: AC3 geht, PCM nicht.

Das ganze hat bislang erst zweimal geklappt. Beim nächsten erfolgreichen Versuch schicke ich das Log mit...komisch komisch....

So langsam erkenne ich ein Muster hier....
starte ich den VDR ganz normal mit Softdevice (primary DVB 3), also zum Beispiel nach einem Reboot habe ich keinen Sound über SPDIF bei PCM......

Wenn ich aber z.B. mit Primary DVB device 1 starte und dann auf DVB 3, softdevice umschalte klappts.....

hier ein Auszug aus dem log beim manuellen start über default DVB device 1 und dann während des umschaltens auf DVB device 3 - hierbei klappt's auch mit dem Ton:

Habe den Eindruck, dass der Eintrag "setting primary device to 3" vor dem initialisieren vom softdevice-audio Part verantwortlich ist. Starte ich direkt mit DVB 3 sehe ich den Eintrag gar nicht oder nach dem initialisieren des softdevice-audio....

Ich hoffe jemand hat eine Idee was ich da machen kann...

Ist der normale PCM-Ausgang nach dem Boot stumm geschaltet ?
Bei softdevice gibts einen Parameter für alsa: mixer .

In diesem Fall sollten auch die Mixer ge-unmuted werden.

Hat schonmal jemand das Softdevice für cle266 / viatv gebacken, und könnte es zum download anbieten ?
Ich weiss selbst ist der mann, ich benutze das mahlzeit iso 4.2 und das einzigste was mir fehlt ist halt das Softdevice für cle266 / viatv, dafür extra ne entwicklung.... zu machen naja ....

lösch mal die libav*-Sachen sowolh unter /usr/lib, als auch unter /usr/local/lib und bügel dann das Softdevice-Paket von meiner HP nochmal drüber! Danach ldconfig nicht zu vergessen! Wenn es dann nicht geht, poste mal den Output von "ldconfig -p" !
